That storm is barely going to scrape here, it's falling just to the west. Grrrrrr.

hear a few rumbles, very faint, you are only 8 miles to my SE, dont think you'll miss it, gotta walk 2.8 miles in it soon

Sod my pessimism...skies growing darker from the south/south west, going to see whether this decaying pup can reinvigorate. Fingers crossed for some action :D

When I come back ill probably read that parts of Cambs have been wiped of the map given the intensity of that rapidly exploding beast!

In the outflow here, and the sky is looking gloriously dark to the south. TCU convection can be seen on the eastern edge of the storms, just peering through what's left of the gap in the clouds.

Some very wierd clouds around here. Maybe it's the storm over the Midlands starting to show it's hand.

that's what it looked like approaching here half hour ago. Got some vids of the storm, complete with witterings of a 2 and 4 year olds!

Bit of a gap heading my way atm, hopefully some outflow from the main storm will kick something up.

Things are moving NWish, but along the trough instability will be progressing eastwards as the trough 'taps' into the instability. Come the next hour or two you'll see the line breaking out across some more central areas of England.

I wouldnt worry too much about what can be seen now, the main development around the Midlands area isnt forecast until lunchtime, so plenty of time to go yet  :D

Just noticed that a cell producing Sferics has developed over Nottingham in less than 10 Mins!

It is filling in. A tower has gone up to the east in a few minutes here.  So may change rapidly.

Well looks like the worst has passed here. Still very dark with rain but the lightning has gone. A fair bit of lightning but very high up, and loud thunder was at a minimum. Can't help feel a bit disappointed as it seemed to be a mega storm on approach with lots of lightning but seemed to pass overhead fairly quietly.
