Suggests to me possible sparks over the channel followed by wet parps over land, unless the chart is wrong

you're not wrong H, it's happening here now.......wet parps so wet that I think they've 'followed though'

Heavy rain now. No thunder currently. More active cells are hitting Lincolnshire.

Absolutely massive drops of rain.

Just been for a walk around the local park (need my exercise- the perils of self employment!) and most of the cumulus development, with some possible cumulonimbus, seem to be all to the North/ NW, so I'm assuming they're a result of the Urban Heat Island effect, and those north of London will benefit.

That's the first overhead storm I've witnessed for around 4 years,I counted around 25-30 flashes of lightning most of which were high in the clouds with lovely deep rumbles of thunder.I'd say the storm lasted for around 20 mins. Not bad at all.Still feels warm and humid, could we gave more before the day is over?!.

The juice is soooo tantalisingly close...mean!!!

A very warm evening though...it wouldn't surprise me if we are importing a wee bit more MLCAPE (looking at the mid level clouds) than the charts are suggesting

That cell now spitting out sferics mid way between London and Cardiff also suggests SBCAPE is probably higher too :D

Storms here flared up north and east of here, think that's it for chances today.
