Great thunderstorm early this morning plenty of lightning. Further heavy showers around this afternoon and a few rumbles of thunder thrown in too

Well from an utterly miserable morning after an early sharp storm, out of nowhere we're basking in 22c and mostly clear skies. What a strange day! Hopefully something will pep up now the sun is working it's magic.

Nottingham sounding not hot at all, Mr. Sun seems to have a fair bit of work to do still... Camborne sounding is a little better, CAPE starting to pick up there.

Well the allnighter payed off......Some great banter on the forum and the introduction of another informative new poster Generalelectrics.....Highlight of the night was watching and listening to the Dawlish webcam (epic thunder and clean streaming).....so much more exciting with sound

 

Had a good feeling at sunrise seeing the skies above the area

 

Then come 7ish all hell let loose....Frequent IC lightning with a few strong CG's and some rattling thunder

 

I was astonished by how much it fizzled out on its journey North

have coverage from Brumcam and a video with sound to process

Same, I've noticed clouds tower and stop convecting due to a cap.

It was worth a try mate, i think the cap just can't be broken, sods law says your half way home and the loaded gun goes bang.

Just a thoroughly wet afternoon here, the rains just cleared away to the north so there should be some sunshine to look forward this evening in the next hour or so. Bit of a disappointing day really but hey ho you win some you lose some! On the plus side still loads of Summer left.... Well done to those who managed to get some action today!

Still overcast here and there are still a few spits in the wind and it is brightening up. Temp has now rocketed to 14.9°C with 92% humidity. Today is one of those special convective days you will remember for a long time and tell your kids about.....
