Great thunderstorm early this morning plenty of lightning. Further heavy showers around this afternoon and a few rumbles of thunder thrown in too

Apologies if this has already been posted, but this seems like a great guide for people trying to understand Spanish plumes, and this type of set up. It certainly helped me :good:http://rgsweather.com/2014/06/04/reigate-a-beginners-guide-to-the-spanish-plume/

Like it a good one that.

Well from an utterly miserable morning after an early sharp storm, out of nowhere we're basking in 22c and mostly clear skies. What a strange day! Hopefully something will pep up now the sun is working it's magic.

@ gael force: maybe the baloon popped

Nottingham sounding not hot at all, Mr. Sun seems to have a fair bit of work to do still... Camborne sounding is a little better, CAPE starting to pick up there.

Still nothing across the UK. The BBC kind of cocked up again. A few showers developing out over NW Brittany now.

Sun is out, temps rising and humidity dropping like a stone.  No chance here.

19.3C with DP at 13.3C. Clouds are towering but there does seem to be a cap...

Same, I've noticed clouds tower and stop convecting due to a cap.

Okay I may regret this but I think I am going to call it a day, nothing happening around here at all.

It was worth a try mate, i think the cap just can't be broken, sods law says your half way home and the loaded gun goes bang.

Just a thoroughly wet afternoon here, the rains just cleared away to the north so there should be some sunshine to look forward this evening in the next hour or so. Bit of a disappointing day really but hey ho you win some you lose some! On the plus side still loads of Summer left.... Well done to those who managed to get some action today! :D

Well the sun has come out here, no trace of all the rain we've had. Its muggy and warm with a few towering clouds.

Ha ha you know it, and it would not surprise me. Some cells firing around the Welsh borders may have my name on them, back home in Derby that is.

Still overcast here and there are still a few spits in the wind and it is brightening up. Temp has now rocketed to 14.9°C with 92% humidity. Today is one of those special convective days you will remember for a long time and tell your kids about.....
