Well started off the day with a few rumbles and flashes, the waiting game begins now.

Need to decide if and when to head east!

the radar echos are less intense on the rain in the south coast

Woke up at 7.15 to thunder. Slowly creeped into the town. Had a couple of close ones and then moved north. Exciting for 10 mins. Why don't they hang around anymore. While I was growing up they would be here for hours and hours rumbling around. I take it that's it for my area for today.

Where in Shrewsbury? I never heard anything, and I never sleep through storms! I know what you mean about them never hanging around any more, I remembe ones that lasted 6 hours or more in the good old 90s..

Had a nice little brief storm just clip us from the west with a few cloud to cloud bolts but it fell apart and went quiet pretty quick, hoping the stuff over Southampton survives its march northward

I think this is unlikely now to be honest.

MetO ppn charts seem to think 1-2pm could be round 2?

A line of elevated storms drifting past to my west according to the radar. Can't hear anything but pretty skies. Might have to bank that until Monday haha

its all going the way I predicted last night for here, just a spell of heavy rain with the proper fireworks for the east later,   but I got 2 distant rumbles out of it,  yay!

I'm streaming the storm as best as possible that's making its way inland now (link in sig), I've switched the microphone on so it should pick up the storm (and the beeping of my lightning detectors - can't mute them), but there is a lot of other intermittent noise around due to the main road outside the house, the thunder should begin to get louder and should be picked up by the microphone.

The storm that just hit Southampton was decent lasted about an hour and a half from the moment I first heard thunder until it was gone.
