Does the lightning radar only pick up on CG lightning?

I think it does to be honest, we had loads here and it showed nothing.

I'd hazard a guess it was mainly CC lightning...there was lots of flashes and strobing at points but it was silent stuff.

One thing i have noticed is that the heat and humidity that was forecast seemed to be benign, this may be the reason that the storms are a bit of a damp squib, even this morning i was up at around five and it just felt too fresh to me.

Breeze has picked up here and the sun is rapidly being replaced by grey skies

good morning, we started bright this morning, clouds moved in, and we have rain, some of it heavy, 3 or 4 distant rumbles of thunder, im not expecting anything overly exciting today

First rumble of Thunder. Going to be a very short one this unless it grows a bit more. Getting ready to soap the car down.

Went to bed at 4.15am. Woke up at 6.50am.

Small distant rumble and a bit of rain...was that it?

Or did I miss something apocalyptic during my 2.5 hour slumber?

I hope he isn't sleeping through it. Oh how I wish I was there...

No I always leave my window open in these events so there is more chance of me waking up because the thunder is louder. All I can remember is waking up as there was a rumble of thunder.

Hopefully that allows a bit of heat to build up in preparation for part 2 later..
