Anyone is Eastern parts of Norfolk and Suffolk, a line of very intense rainfall (so I assume thunderstorms) have developed north East of Southend, traveling directly north. Very narrow but that entire line has 50mm per hour + so you will know about it if it hits you.

Interesting what a little sun can do, they seem to blow up out of nowhere when sunrise hit

I think the EURO4 and the rainfall model on the MetOffice website have performed really well so far with this setup during this morning...I think its later on where the unpredictability comes into play, with surface heating etc....

Quietened down by 0600 bar a few more distant rumbles and heavy rain continues.

0545 to 0555 saw several close forks 1 to 2 miles east and really loud thunder!

4mm rain so far since 0530, very heavy just now.

A thunderstorm hit here at about 5am, I got two nice bolts captured, I will probably upload a video later.

Good morning Birmingham!

The speed that cell developed was seriously impressive, light rain to a huge severe storm in just an hour, given how weak solar heating will be at the moment, that tells you how explosive today could be. Question is how lucky can we be a any storm debris from France, any significant clearance could spark some serious home grown storms.

Also Sunday looking very good as the very warm/humid air is tending to hang on in the east. BBC showing some potent stuff again.

Glad I got some kip overnight, things progressing quite nicely the past few hours and with daytime heating still to come methinks the midlands and north are in for a treat.

Storm number 1 some great lightning every minute or so and a huge rainbow passed very quickly, 10 minutes after it passes storm number 2 rolls in, lots of lightning every 15-30 seconds, an excellent morning storm.
