Spotted what looked like undulating mammatus cloud towards the West, which is very dark, and the wind is starting to pick up. Wish I'd had a camera on me for the clouds :cray:

Sorry to say it, but it just doesn't feel thundery today at all. A couple of light showers earlier, but it's been mainly cloudy and cool with a naggingly cold south easterly wind blowing today. Feels more like the beginning of October than the end of May at the minute. Here's hoping tomorrow see's the SE wind pull in some more warm humid air of the near continent to get the storms firing.

That non-storm has just produced a sferic up in the hills just south of Holmfirth.

Edit: Actually my wrong that is a different shower, the Morley shower has moved NW.

I'd be half tempted to watch developments around Bristol, S Wales way and around Northants a bit later..

It feels so cool outside though with a strong breeze. Plus I have only seen 15 mins of sunshine earlier this afternoon just North of Bristol...I think any developments will be too weak to produce any T&L this evening in my opinion (For this area at least) Edited by Chris K

Cell popped up from almost nowhere! Initially started Worksop way..

Indeed, it shows the atmosphere is still quite volatile despite the depressed temperatures and general lack of sunshine.

Sorry storm-lovers but today the meteor-outburst takes precedent over the weather. I'd take seeing a rare sight of 200 meteors per hour than a few mesly lightning strikes.

I can confirm that during the week of supposedly big storms and heavy rain, I have accumulated..........3mm and zero T&L.
