Bit of a non-starter in my area today 8/8 cloud cover with drizzle for hours killed off any heating from the sun to trigger anything today.....unless it clears pretty quickly before sunset I think it maybe another day of oh wells around here :)

Just got drenched by the rain we just had in Bristol. Not half as bad as what some of you have had today though I'm sure.

We're not out of the woods yet either by the looks of it.

I've just noticed. Is that rain to my SE actually coming W?

North west towards me it appears. If it makes it that far.

You see the gap between both areas of precipitation? Well that's got Bristol written all over it!

Feeling very muggy now btw and the sky is looking interesting.

Or better intensify and as it gets closer to Bristol it will fizzle out.

Out of interest, why when you film lightening does it always appear as a horizontal flashing rather than how it actually looks?

Complete let down again here. Even going out chasing Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire I only managed to see one flash. Cannot believe the speed they fizzled as they approached. No storms in Derby since January.

Here is the 3 vids of the storms in MK today that I managed to film when the rain & hail wasn't so heavy it would have wrecked my phone, hence me trying to keep it dry by pointing out the window. Apologies for my bad language but in the third video we had a triple positive IC strike & extremely loud thunder Posted Image

Just rain here, all activity seems to have died off over Lincolnshire before it arrived here. Familiar story!

I cannot believe how unlucky I've been considering I was due to get storms for the last three days running according to forecasts for my area.

Thundery rain we have. Thunder we certainly do not  :fool:

I don't get it. Been watching it coming all day at work in Doncaster and the whole of the NW radar is red with the stuff. I head home at 17:15, sprites on the radio, black as the Ace of Spades to the SE. I get home and the rain starts in earnest. I tell everyone we are in for a big one and what happens? Thundery rain!!!

Where did the thunder go? It is there to the SE of here (HU17) at 18:00 but when I get to the PC (now) it's all gone as if by magic. :wallbash:

I feel like joining the no storms club after this let down but I guess they won't have me  :cc_confused:

The BBC say 'thundery showers' - I'll take them. They also occasionally say 'thundery downpours' - I'll take them too. What I won't take is thundery bl@@dy rain! I hate it!!!  :nonono:

Gonna cry in my cup of tea now.....
