Posisioned myself in Poole for the day and Just started to get the rain here. Fingers crossed for some action today.

You are in the best spot for the next hour or so in my opinion. Most lightning activity seems to be on the eastern side of the storm, which is on a direct path for Poole!

Come to Winchester Dave i'll make you a cup of tea and give you some coffee! - (or scrap that the view is no good compared to the sea!!)

I'm well excited.

Coffee sounds good but not liking the bad view :)

Think Im going to hang tight for another 1/2hr and see what the SE of the cell does

the storms over the channel will follow the upper steering winds 500hpa to save confusion....also watch the 300hpa winds because if there's upper shear the anvil tops will be sheared giving the illusion that the storm is moving in a different direction. For Luke (Surrey) watch those discrete cells firing to the west of Brighton, as they're heading for you.

The multicell cluster will track due north and start to then track NNW following the upper flow to make landfall between southampton and bournemouth and track towards Salisbury and then start to turn towards Bristol & SE Wales

Bristol / SE Wales you say......

I BET I get a storm today! I need to test a tent this afternoon!

Like the sound of that, will sit tight in Christchurch and make a last minute dash E/W, Thanks

It's is certainly much cooler and fresher here today. Light breeze and the sun is out.

Any cloud looks dirty and  and not very thundery. But we have some convection so it's better than nothing.

Woww I knew this would happen as soon as I left the IOW, looks like another load of storms is heading straight for them, everything has completely missed Guernsey so far :(

The ATD isn't showing any recent strikes now, my detector hasn't gone off. Sferic activity will return on it's exit out of Dorset. ;)

Don't know if I'm having a flush, but it feels warm and muggy here even though it's been raining all morning.

Very potent small cell gone up over Le Havre, expect sferics very soon.

I think it's Cherburg you're looking at rather than LH
