It also means we have the second warmest january to june on record too, only 2007 has had a warmer first half of year. 2000 also had a 15.1 figure for june too.

Its the third warmest with a mean of 9.50C.

1846 was 9.52C and 2007 was 9.70C for the first 6 months of the year.

1846 was 9.52C and 2007 was 9.70C for the first 6 months of the year.

For what it's worth 1846 is second by monthly values only because of rounding to a tenth of a degree - 2014 takes round downs of 3 hundredths in March and April and the largest possible, 4 hundredths, in May and June.

Calculated by daily values 2014 ends June on 9.539 vs 9.531 for 1846.

For comparison 2007 was 9.718°C

As promised here are the full June results

The four above who got June correct are Top 4 in the seasonal comp.

reef (1) Thundery wintry showers (2) A Winter's Tale (3) with Blizzards (4)

Overall the Top 3 is

reef (1st from 2nd)

The PIT (2nd from 1st)

Thundery wintry showers (3rd From 8th)

But it is very close at the top.
