I have had/have in the past, just about every lightning plotter/detector/storm tracking app on the planet! Usually more than one going at the same time....

What's everyone's opinions on these...? Accurate/Not as to a strike actually occurring, and strike location accuracy or not, and whole clusters of strikes being plotted well out of place sometimes....

Which ones the best do you think....?

The clouds to my W are really towering now, surprising no rain has fallen out of them, yet.

Well even the euro4 model is well out on today's forecast!!a whole rash or showers/thunderstorms were meant to develop across the midlands right now and we have nothing whatsoever even developing at the moment!!epic fail so far today!!one consolation is that its still warm and humid!

So its out by 15-30 minutes - the front seems to be progressing more slowly than first thought, especially if that orange/red chart posted earlier is anything to go by - if its true then the CF is not due to be over my area until 9pm tonight (unless I'm reading it wrong) - still feels quite warm and humid outside in London at the moment so not sure its quite gone through yet.

I like the look of that Euro4 output and the BBC had me down for thunderstorms tonight. Wouldn't mind round 4 :D

My Lighting app has just started "pinging" again. Looks like a cell off the N.Cornwall coast is kicking off.

This is a great app BTW. It's called Bliztortung Lightning Monitor (on Android). :good:

Indeed, things are changing quite rapidly despite the sluggish start - much depends on expectations to be fair :) plenty of time to get things going but again they're scattered in nature and pretty fast moving.

Yes the line of cells heading up from Oxford into our area seem to be holding together well....ones to keep an eye on as they move Northwards :good:

Have just had a few rumbles and cg from a cell just out to sea - looks to be trundling up the coast. Can be seen quite well on the radar.

First storm of the year!

My attention is drawn to the NE, north of the Humber. A cell has developed there quite quickly in the last 15-30 mins and I suspect will see rapid development in this area in the next hour.

Nice line developing now across the C/S and SW England - again, would expect this get quite active in the next hour or so - will be interested to see how far East that line develops as it moves N

Hi All, Well this is dreary, the day is young :)

That clump moving northwards, is destined for East Sussex, Kent.
