Just FYI for those of us dejected SE'rners - MetO currently plumping for thundery rain tomorrow night...some potential better than none :D

Thundery rain? That's a guarantee you won't hear any thunder. I can't recall one occasion that I heard thunder when thundery rain is forecast.

The rain tomorrow night is associated with a plume of very warm air moving northwards into Germany, the models have been slowly pushing the 8C isotherm further and further east, simply put..... it's going to hit Belgium like they always do :p

Things developing very quickly in the last 10-15 mins in N England ahead of the main band.

This is looking good I think it's finally happening. I'm thinking I might need to drive west soon.

Starting to get going now some real dark towering cloud approaching from the south, distant rumbles.

Had no time to get on the forum but by the looks of things the showers have been pathetic today. Last ditch chance of the latest cell I think?

Well the high resolution NMM6  shows thundery rain moving North West tomorrow night: But given the complexity of precip forecasts  everything is given to change   :nonono:

The reason for Sky TV going dead is that the microwave radiation used to beam your TV signal from space struggles to get through the water-rich clouds. Most annoying during heavy showers!

Very dark to my south now, I think you might be right if something doesn't happen soon. Next couple of radar loops sooo important.

Counted 6 flashes and alot of thunder, pleased with that, looks like central Cumbria is getting the mother.
