Stuff over France has a much more Northerly shift to it now..

Just cloudy with a few spots of rain. All the intense stuff seems to be passing harmlessly up the north sea, after having a pint of Belgium lager :p

The next batch looks very much like a Kent clipper to me.

Couples of images from this afternoon of the heavy showers just south towards Hereford.

Relax guys, the cold front thats been straddling slowly over the south west today is'nt suppost to really start shifting north until at least this evening. Once it moves north into north midlands/northern england with all the cape on offer and currently now mainly sunny skies here, things should go BOOOM! Pateience is needed :)

Hmm...UKMO precipitation projection points towards (possibly) a convective outbreak around London around 8pm...I know it's quite a random projection much of the time but has been right in the past!

What's the big fiasco with tomorrow night all I see is heavy rain moving up from the south..

A large lobe of PVA at vortmax is projected by the GFS, that associated with an occlusion could really crank the rainfall up, causing large totals in a small period of time. I expect the yellow warning will get adjusted.

Everything looks too far west to affect Scotland at all.

Don't the showers usually form ahead of the surface front? I believe the cold front is that line of showers in Eastern Wales/Midlands ATM.

Moody sky's here as the line of showers approaches, but as others have said the the lightening seems to have dissipated from the line!

Ps sorry about upside down photo, just done it off iPad for first time!

Spotted two cumulonimbus heading northwards, there's probably more but I can't see them for the tower blocks around here.

That's a good question, I think showers/storms will break out ahead of the surface front, but I think eventually they will merge together into a narrow swath of thundery rain, spreading into the northeast late this evening. Possibly a long thin squall line along the front.

I've said this countless times now,and it usually amounts to nothing, butsomething looks to be brewing to the south of me moving Nw.Think it will miss me though, very black skies with impressive towers rising.

Well I'm kind of glad nothing materialised whilst I was at work, but I was hoping the skies would look a little more angry by now. An evening of radar/sky watching beckons!

A nice shower developing about 15 miles south west of sheffield, hopefully the next radar loop will have it growing.
