Just watched a cell build and drop quite a lot of rain over the house in about 15-20 minutes. It's ripe out there.

Dark clouds to my SW where the stoke & Midlands storms are, nothing round these parts though however i'm sure if it was darker those same clouds would be lighting up from IC strikes.

I'm just south of Ashford in Kent this evening and there's plenty of Ac gas bubbling up from the Channel now, one dark high based cell not far to the SW looks like its giving some rain but no thunder yet, least there,s signs of destabilisation this far east too.

Was keeping an eye on those on radar and sat24, but the cell you refer to seems to have chilled out a bit as it moves in land.

I can see some cells firing up to the south of here, and looking at the radar the showers and storms are starting to develop slightly more to the east than earlier. Its a slim chance I know but could I possibly get a storm tonight?!!.

You know I really don't know. I think anything that imports might miss me, I shall still sleep with the window open in anticipation, although I fully expect I will sleep through it, should it happen.

All in honesty anywhere on the south coast could be hit tonight!

Well, despite some nice swathes of AcCas on the train home tonight (and still some out there now) I'm not hopeful for us here :cray: still thunder free in 2014... :cray:

Is that a developing MCS over central France slowly nudging it's way northward? Looks incredibly potent though i doubt if it will make it across the channel

Umm, that's what I was wondering - getting pretty big on the satellite pics and cloud top temps showing large area < -50 degs.
