My eyes are focused on SW Scotland as there's something in the area (although not electrified yet)

More close thunder here but the storms seem to be going around us rather than over us :(

hey all. sat near cirencester - cu bubbling up and some great looking leaning towers - I can see this cu getting going way to the north of me and cb's going up, but looks like less supportive mid level lapse rates and moisture levels might give in during the heat of the day the way things are going. good luck all - if your like me hot thundery weather is built into my soul :)

by the way, the last time I saw towers leaning over like this was 2008 in the states!

Nice to see north wales getting some action, it was the south and west of wales last night. Constant rumbles of thunder here for a while very early this morning

Rumbles of thunder to my east, very dark skies over there from a towering CB that's starting to anvil. Dark skies to the West too. Stuck in the middle with nowt as usual.

The cell producing the thunder..

Something cropping up south of Derby? not much ascent profiling in the CU around here yet, if only we had a convergence similar to yesterday which sparked those TCu cells over Lancs.

That cell NW of Newport look at those rain rates! 120/150mm/hr +

The cell has formed incredibly quickly out of nowhere!

Distant thunder seemed to the SE 0530, grumbled on occasionally for an hour with a few louder, closer rumbles, also some brief heavy showers. No lightning seen.
1240-50: Storm passed 3 or 4 miles by to the NE with rumbles every minute or so, no L seen and just a spit of rain, while radar showed heavy rain 3 miles NE

Quite a line of thunder activity from Cardigan Bay to the Brecon Beacons currently.

Its a shame that those cells in Wales are moving North and not North Easterly!

First batch clearing from here now, just a light shower. Hoping the stuff over Wales keeps it's momentum!

The cells over Wales should inject some moisture into the mid-layers which will help develop vertical profiles as the day goes on, added in the instability aswell and it's still pretty much game-on for most of England.

Now that I'm back from my travels for the moment I have the home grown storms to enjoy - we actually had a reasonable Friday and Saturday in Nuremberg until it went all showery again yesterday, but nothing like last Tuesday evening - that rain was mindblowing!

Bubbling up nicely here in the foothills of the Pennines:

Nice and warm earlier but dark clouds rolling in, spots of rain, and wind picking up. I wont hold my breath though as probably just a boring old shower.
