Looks almost as if the line across the south has run into an area of descent - the bands ahead of it were disolving. yeah the mcs has got pretty inactive too. still, fingers crossed ..

Yup...all developed due northwest - Still caught some cracking CGs, loud rumbles etc over an hours worth to be fair, albeit fairly distant lol. Here's hoping for the beefy looking imports to rudely awake us later! If you're asleep that is

You'd hope so but considering the storms which are just passing over southern England now, they don't seem to regain any intensity but anything could still happen right now.

I certainly agree with you , if anyone hasn't noticed showers have formed between the rain band in the middle of the channel and on the front edge of the MCS, these may intensify?

 

Front edge indeed intensifying as it enters the channel! Lightning strikes becoming more frequent there now.

Wow I really cant believe it twice in one day storms have come up from the south and jumped over Bristol and started up again once there clear of here really is annoying.hasn't even rained here.glad others got their fix but I think I'm gonna give up now got to be up at 4.30.hope more of you get something tonight but from the Bristol Gap I'm calling it a day.

Don't rely on sferics which are notoriously unreliable...I saw a number of thunderstorms last year which were in some cases were far far more active than sferic detection would suggest

Two flashes of lightning seen north of Portsmouth

  saw dark ominous cloud from wigan looking west but knew by the look of it that is must electrical, so took a drive down the a580 and sure enough started to see lightning as I approached around the St Helene area toward Liverpool, saw about 20 plus flashes of cg, intracloud and sheet lightning all pinkish and blue in colour, not the most frequent lightning but not bad for a storm starved guy like me

Tomorrow's potential seemingly being shunted further and further north. At this rate most of the Midlands and Wales may have a largely fine day, with most of the storms maturing further north with the S'ly flow.
