as night time encroaches, it's getting darker now, so hopefully should start seeing lightning flickers within the hour. Much thicker Ac Cas with undulatus encroaching from the south

Wouldn't go by that radar as it shows rain going over Sussex an nothing has fallen here.

The colours show the temperatures of the cloud tops, not precipitation :D

That MCS in France has shocked me at how big it is, trying to picture how far east it will shunt, my location is just east to central or south of east midlands.

If it continues to expand I would say its on for getting all of central UK. It would be nice if over night the low pressure out to the west would just push a touch more closer to the UK as that would help budge it over abit.

The balance will slowly shift as we get deeper into the night :p

Anyway, on topic. Some good storms about, eh?  :hi:

Looking in similar health to the Lithuanian system which is still rumbling away as per below

My personal belief is the MCS will die down

But provide the energy for tomorrow's fun.

I could be bold in saying that the MCS will nudge NW into Wales overnight and into the Irish Sea. Just going by the flow of the Low

It looks like heading NW so anywhere from IOW north westwards could see some fun and games (if it holds). The thing then is leftover cloud tomorrow!

Plain old rain here. Strikes to my west, strikes to the south east lol

It did decay quite quickly in all honesty.

Not sure about that Darren. Too often I have read convective experts saying the clag and reminants from overnight storms or MCS had restricted storm development the next day if they hang around.

Pretty muggy down south...

Just been out for a smoke and have to agree...very calm, eerie, the gentlest of warm (actually very warm) breezes
