Beautiful clear skies this morning, currently at 10.1C after a low of 5.6C overnight.

If the skies stay clear, the warmest day of the year so far is very likely.

2 glorious 'summery' days on the trot, with yesterdays 17 degrees topped by todays 17.5 in my back garden. Wonderful weather… Thankfully they haven't started metering the water yet, I've filled up the youngfella's swimming pool yesterday!!!

Hopefully this weekend is just a blip, as it looks like it might be! Some great growth in the gardens now too...

:-)

A cooler day yesterday, just maxed out at 14.0C, most likely due to the breeze. The Knockmealdown mountains must have had an impressive fire of their southern slope, because the smoke coming off them covered the entire horizon to the east. I actually thought it was just cloud for most of the day until I got a better look.

A few fires to the north on the Galtees too, which are still going this morning, albeit much reduced. Here's a pic from last night.

Got a pic of Venus while I was out too (right at the top!).

Anyway, a min of 3.8C this morning, currently 5.5C. Seems to be less of a breeze, so perhaps a bit warmer today.

A little snow on the Galtees yesterday, but no sign of anything at lower level.

A pretty wet morning so far, rain easing up now though. Hoping to get out for a run before the F1 highlights are on at 2pm.

Avoided the rain yesterday, and a beautiful start to today. Dense fog and frost clearing to blue skies over the space of an hour. Low of 1.8C and currently 2.9C.

After this great spell of weather, it seems we could be seeing some record setting cold from Sunday onward. While this is quite a way off and fairly unlikely, the final night of April and first night of May show temps getting down to -4 or -5C on the latest GFS. That could break the May record low (for the Rep of Ireland) of -5.6C set in Phoenix Park in 1946. Aside from that, most monthly station record lows for May don't get below -3C, and many for April are around the -4 to -5C range, so plenty of potential for a few records to be set.
