Ended up as a decent second half of the day here.

Rain cleared through mid afternoon and dry with sunny spells since.

Temperatures reached 19c in the end but it felt warm enough.

Dry and sunny start to Sunday, although breezy.

If the threatened showers keep away from NW England it will certainly be a usable sort of day.

Just arrived home from work, on my travels I spotted some pretty impressive towers look to be out Warrington/Chester way, one or two where perfect anvil shapes. Here it is sunny with normal scattered fluffy ones and quite warm in the sun, 22.3c atm, wind has dropped off this afternoon.......................now for tea

I just had very heavy rain and bit of hail here. Just cleared up right now. I'm pretty sure could be thunderstorms this afternoon/evening.

Actually there is a warning being put out for NW England for Thunderstorms tomorrow:

YELLOW WARNING of RAIN

This warning is in force for northwest England and parts of the Midlands.

A warm, unstable airmass will affect the area leading to heavy, slow-moving showers and a risk of hail and thunderstorms.

Rainfall totals of 20-30mm are likely locally, but could exceed 50mm.

The public should be aware of the risk of localised flooding.

Valid on Friday from 1000 until 2000.

Tomorrow is going to be interesting for us :)

A couple of rumbles about 5pm - and it went dark - but then it all just faded away with just a few spots.
