Wettest day here for some while.

Mainly dry for much of the morning but once it set it in, the rain has been moderate to heavy since and it's still raining steady now.

Only 15c as well so a disappointing day of weather.

Hopefully the weekend will be better and dry weather permitting, a brisk 18 mile round trip to watch the Tour de France may be on the cards.

Better day today , after 30 hours rain cool though !....

Yes, the clearance reached our part of East Lancashire about an hour ago and now it's spells of warm sunshine with some cloud.Just hope that the showers keep away.

Still better than much of summer 2012 where a wet morning was followed by a wetter afternoon and flooding by evening.Just glad that today's heavy showers came 24 hours later otherwise waiting for the Tour de France would have been a soggy affair.

Looks like a convergence line has developed in Yorkshire, heavy rain here.

After a dry, mainly sunny day rain arrived at around 4.30 and lasted on and off for about an hour.

Looks like it's cleared through now though with a bit of sun showing through.

Edit - just heard a loud rumble of thunder so maybe not quite over yet.

Beautiful clear blue skies here at the moment.  I hope that rain stays away for a bit longer.....

Mainly bright rather than sunny here now but still 22.5c and yet again the threatened rain has stayed away.

At long last, an Easterly outbreak that we're glad to see downgrade.

Nudging 24c here already so looks like we could be heading for our warmest day of the year so far IMBY.

Just hope that the threatened rain which was initially forecast to arrive overnight in Sunday but then got brought forward can return to it's original time slot as I just fancy a BBQ and a few beers outside.

If not tomorrow will have to do although work on Monday always takes the edge of enjoying the beer part of it.

Clouding over now ,still warm though !!...

Same here now although patchy stuff at the moment but looking thicker down the valley where most of our weather comes from.Still we've reached 25.4c which I'm pretty sure is our highest temperature of 2014.

Still bright here but a lot cloudier than this morning.

Very warm though and feeling quite humid although nice sat out in it.

Just hop that rain keeps away until after dark but somehow I doubt it.

Two minds about BBQ now !!...

Yeh it looks like it's a curry for us and BBQ tomorrow. No rain yet but I can see it being here before we would want to eat.Still over 23c so can't really complain.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
