Im looking forward to end of October I like dark nights but till then hoping for a decent summer so I can have a least one Bbq.

This weather today is dire no thunder or lighting just plain old rain but surprisingly warm.

To be honest here I wouldn't call it warm at all, it's quite chilly, especially in the breeze. It's currently 12C, and the temperature is not responding to the rain having stopped. The only thing that can give any chance for storms now, is if there were to be home grown storms, but this is unlikely, and requires sunshine in the next hour.. which we may not get, especially if there is a cloud bridge between the trough and cold front.

The temperatures however, are the biggest concern, although the GFS was quite happily plugging 20C by 3pm, I'd be extremely surprised if this was the case.. more like 14-15C by the time the front comes in to those where the trough has already cleared. I'm not sure what temperatures we need to initiate storm development today but I suspect both the 850hPa and surface level temperatures are both inferior for development.

Spot on post. Just got to 14.7C cool for June

Rain finally stopped here, sun trying its best to break through, looks like tomorrow could see isolated thunder storms especially in the afternoon

Beautiful out there tonight, it smells wonderful, currently 14.7c. Generally been a great day, woke to a thunderstorm this morning, then gorgeous sunny afternoon in the low 20c's, and then another storm this evening. Had a delicious meal, fab company, and a glass or two of a cheeky red, the only fly in the ointment was that I didn't check the radar this evening and had my washing out on the line..........................so what it'll dry tomorrow, ain't life brill!

After a lovely sunny we're currently in the middle of a storm which has put yesterday's apocolyptic non event to shame.

Heavy rain and several loud rumbles of thunder with even a bit of hail for good measure.

Yesterday I heard one distant sound of thunder throughout and even the rain was in short supply.

Thinking about this year thus far and we are coming up to halfway through it already, it has been a very boring and lack in variety at least around here, IMO.

Hardly any frost, snow, thunder, fog, sleet, hail.

It's either been dry, cloudy, sunny or wet or combination of.

Its weird I could see daylight at midnight. I see a bit of daylight to the north of me right now. I bet Iceland will still be daylight right now. I don't know how people in Iceland cope with the midnight sun. It certainly makes me wonder.

After a bit of a wet start it is sunny now with scattered clouds, temp in my garden in full sun 26.4c, pressure 1018hpa, wind is almost none existent. According to local the beeb forecast this morning this afternoon was going to be very wet with prolonged heavy showers and a chance of thunder...................not yet it isn't
