Light rain tonight which added to the Halloween feel, I guess. Guisers got a bit wet, but we had a bumper year and there is not a sweetie left in the house.

Attached is one of my Franknstein neepy lanterns for outside!

I think it was by-tor who said we'd sell our grandmothers for a flake of snow.

What would you give to see a Met-O red weather warning for snow for your area which actually panned out as forecast? How many of your children would you sacrifice to the snow gods? How quickly would your wife/husband/soul be sold to the devil? I think 2 out of 3 of my kids and about 0.01 seconds to sell the wife :D

I'd tie my wife to the lampost outside, in a King Kong style sacrifice to the snow gods.

Nice cool fresh day after overnight rain. Cut house grasses this afternoon hopefully for the last time this year.Shifted cows and calves to a fresh field of grass yesterday quite exceptional. New grass under barley stubble is around a foot high now after the warm autumn. At least sheep will be able to dig down to it easily when the foot of snow arrives in December. Currently breezy and 7.8c.

Just back from a fab girly weekend in galashiels at a friends house. This annual event has seen us travel there in some crazy weather but yestrday we were treated to sum glorious sunshine that made the fields and leaves the most spectacular golds orange n bronzes.

Treated on the return journey to the same outlook but with some spectacular idiots on the a7 who clearly won their driving licence in a lucky bag.

Not even gonny mention thedetour via linlthgow cos of a spillage on the m90...

Anyhoo bak hame in glenrothes theres a definate chill in the air that matches the chill in my body tryn to get rid of the alcohol.............

Ah the A7. Scenery-wise a lovely drive, but a road clearly not built by the Romans... Been spiced up in recent times by coatings of mud associated with the Borders railway construction. Hopefully the railway - which is well advanced now - will reduce the commuter traffic where many of the overtaking round bends etc folk come from. Thank god the A68 is my route to work; it's a three lane motorway by comparison.

Chill in the air tonight. Down to 4.8 °C now and condensation building. Possible frost by the morn...

Preliminary winter forecast up here:

https://forum.netweather.tv/blog/237/entry-4837-preliminary-winter-forecast-201415-return-to-cold/

Still early days yet and far from set in stone but I think you'll like it...

Like it? No I love it! Of course what that means is that if you get it completely wrong we'll be out to lynch you come March.

Heads off to put the de-icer, snow shovel and container of grit back in the car. Check condition of skis....

Same here and very wet this afternoon. Snow must be falling on the high hills at this sort of temperature.

I was sure Carn Nan Tri Tighearnan overlooking Inverness from the south was looking a bit snowy when I caught a brief glimpse of it through a break in the clouds earlier. We'll soon find out!

Miserable dark  November day here today with sharp showers coming in off the Firth on a fresh NNE wind at 7c a very rare occurence last winter so already it feels more wintry than this time last year. Last autumn/winter we had nothing but southerly winds.

I was just going to say, I can't remember the last time the rain battered against my north facing kitchen window!

Well from the BBC forecast this morning, I was expecting some sharp showers coming down from the north. Instead its been lovely and sunny here in Alloa, not wall to wall, but lovely nonetheless

Oh, I spot the first ramp of the winter!  Hopefully there will be many more! It was lovely up here yesterday, we even saw blue sky at least twice! Frosty night forecast for the fireworks. 4c here with light cloud.
