Oh wow, I'm on the outskirts of this storm and towers are trying to go up from the outflow! Impressive :D

Finally got a storm :) Around 20 rumbles of thunder and saw an impressive cg which was just out of view from the camera :nonono: Rain wasn't anything special though. Hoping for more soon.

Three distinctly separate thunderstorms passed very close to here earlier this afternoon so after the first one I tried to give chase. It's hopeless trying though. It's so frustrating when I've had my cameras charged up all week and on the day it all goes bang I get stuck in traffic every which way and trying to stop and get a decent viewpoint is nigh on impossible.

I did eventually manage to park up for a few minutes at a spot which has views right across towards Central London. On a clear day it's possible to see the Shard from there, some 19 miles away. I watched storm number 3 sweep across the London area firing off some massive CG's. Unfortunately the rain was so heavy that filming the storm from outside the car was impossible, and I couldn't position the car to be able to film through the windscreen.

Been plenty of t&l here all afternoon. Three distinct storms and heavy rain and hail. Still going on now in East Northants. Many strikes close with only a few seconds from strike to thunder.

Sent from mobile as all wire and leads have been unplugged.

Big shower just passed through in Rayleigh Essex, one flash and a couple of distant rumbles though nothing special, disappointing considering the amount of action on the lightning detector

Oh wow, I would have loved to have seen that.  I work literally next door to the Shard (only day this week I work from this office) and typically enough, I miss out on most of the storm due to having no bleeding windows! I hope someone caught the Shard being hit by fork lightning on camera - would make an exceptional shot!

All gone quite now, handy as I need to make a vote on the EU in a while.

Got cameras etc. charged and ready to go out to my usual chase viewpoint, hoping the system would swing this way and... it fizzled out. After Wales and now the Midlands area have been painted with lots of lightning symbols on the radar of late, hopefully it will colour in our side soon. Or rather Suffolk, as the whole system seems to have cleverly pivoted and drifted to avoid this area entirely! But I'm so pleased that other areas have had a good storm experience :)

Well that's storm number 4 today (add to the 2 in January and 1 in February). Must admit it has been a little underwhelming here. On the other hand places west of here got hammered big time.

Well, stuck indoors most of the day. No t&l and just a few bursts of rain in Beaconsfield. Yawn!
