Up to 23c here today, varied between sun and showers with a couple of rumbles in the Channel.

ooh, it's all gone a bit dark here in the City. Just debating whether to be good and walk to the station (risking getting rained on) or get the horrendous, overheated, overcrowded tube. Technically I should walk given the diet I've just started, and the radar doesn't look *that* bad.....

The signs are good, altocumulus - heat - humidity!

Just a waiting game now really, atleast I had a storm this morning :D

I have kept the curtains closed and that has helped keep the heat out, walked to the local shop a while ago and arrived back sweating but the cool in the lounge was very nice and welcome on my return.

Is it tonight for sure and not this evening? My lawn needs mowing, was waiting for things to cool off, thought maybe mow the lawn at 8pm, or will it be peeing down by then?

We wont really know until anything substantial shows up on radar.

I will put my backside on the line tonight and say that any rain that moves up from the continent tonight will not be thundery.

Yep we got some 'light-ish' rain and it's getting dark, but after the heat it a welcome break. I don't expect any thunder, although I've got a bit of a 'head; coming on.

MetO pretty much thinks we are drying up,

Lol no surprises there! Although it has been a pretty stunning day here, watching all the beautiful storms just across the channel avoid us like the plague has put me in a really crappy mood. Must get a life (or get on with other hobbies and leave weather alone for a while lol). Some dark clouds around now but nothing more than a spit of drizzle.

Just spoken to my mother who is only a few miles away and she said there were spots of rain coming down, nothing here but very cloudy now and hardly a breath of wind, very still indeed so feeling even more close/humid, 23.2oC in the shed.

Can the CSE cell on the radar right now go boom, I hope so. Could be our region's last hopes for a storm for a good while as HP domination is looking likely at least for best part of six to seven days after Tomorrow, when only isolated non-electrical showers are expected. :friends:

Just had a right scare, a giant hornet flew in through my window. Must admit, I legged it. Luckily it has appeared to have left. Unless it's going to come out at night and murder me in my sleep.

Cloudy and very stuffy now.

Looks like there's a whole lot more heading across the channel towards the SE. Hope this turns thundery!

Now hammering it down with rain in Milton Keynes from a very disturbed looking alto cumulus layer, with the odd dark low down cumulus underneath flying through quickly although there is not any wind. Have this feeling the developing showers are going to turn a lot more thundery than forecast, it feels ripe out there, the humidity and warmth feels very oppressive at the minute.
