Nothing in London all night and just dull and drizzly this morning. More cells to the south but they don't seem particularly organised and are fast moving so a brief 10 minute storm looks like the best we can hope for

sun is out here not, some quite impressive mid level cloud, but that's all at the moment.

Very heavy rain making it onto the south coast now. Hopefully that can gather strength as it moves inland.

Some elevated storms to my west, seem active according to the radar (which has now gone totally ga ga and isn't showing anything anywhere!)

Pretty decent storm just blew through central Southampton, it's amazing how the thunder sounds deeper when it's over water. It was all intra cloud but some loud thunder non the less. I could hear it for about an hour before it hit.

Morning

Currently 22.3c after a low of 16.5c. Going to rain shortly but don't think there's much electrical activity in what's heading my way. Hopefully it clears before midday when the red arrows arrive!

Had lots of accas drifting North this morning but no thunder and hardly any rain. Still, sun is now out on full power so may be a bit of decent heating can kick something off.

Seems to be decaying if anything, only scattered lightning now as well

real spread of temperatures at the moment. Widely pushing into the 20s in the sun though now. Lydd airport near the south coast currently at 22C, despite an onshore wind. Plenty of warmth out there to feed storm development.

Models still pushing potentially a 25C today.

Sunday and Monday also have decent potential for scattered thunderstorms with mainly some imports to boot, again temperatures look to be hitting around the 25C mark, maybe higher potentially.

was hoping to get woken up during the night, but when I did at 4:30 I peaked out only to see a cloudless sky!. Roll on 4 hours and it looked like the 'light rain' MetO thought I would get, so radar up and I saw lots of storms no where near me. :wallbash:

Oh well, there a few more hours left in the day. c'mon give me a storm :nonono:

Tony Gilbert over on UK Weather World has a very interesting overview of the storm prospects for the East:
