Evening all

Lovely day here today. Warm sun and clear blue skies at times. The only problem, was that I was stuck in work!

Feeling hopeful for tomorrow, but if we do miss it, atleast it will feel nice and very warm and good to get about in.

think they did say that the S/SW would see some gusty winds and moving along the S.

Has anyone noticed I think the will it storm has actually proved more popular than snowmageddon. 53 pages in a day!!! And it ain't even started yet lol

One question that I do have, the wind really has been strong today. Will that diminish our chances of a storm later on??

hi all

cannot update properly at present as no ukmo charts except the 00 run

as a rough guide it looks like some thundery showers moving in around 3am in the south moving nort east and effecting all by around 8am

i will use the 00 run to show but will update later if these have changed when they are available

Posted Image

note where the heavier rain is so watch for poss flash flooding

now at 2pm

Posted Image

this is when the cold front looks to move through our area

note the heavier precip area

that is where i expect the higher storm risk now this will transfer north east through the afternoon

by 8pm

Posted Image

the area of instability has moved north east and  south of london starts to dry out but still the thundery risk exists for the far north-north east of our region

temps

Posted Image

anywhere between 18-22 degrees

wind

Posted Image

pretty variable and maybe some strong gusts when the cold front comes through in the afternoon

could see the odd funnel north of london in the afternoon

Posted Image

Posted Image

basically anywhere looks likely to see something tomorrow

trying to say this area will get something and the other wont is near on impossible in the set up showing

best thing is watch the radar and hopefully enjoy the show

hopefully i can confirm this later

best regards

john

Thanks as always for the great forecast JP...

Feeling a lot cooler outside now. The sun has gone and the breeze is really picking up.

Quite a shift in forecast since last night, I wasn't really expecting much in London but it seems we're right in the firing line again now, an interesting night/morning ahead for sure

sunday shows this

Posted Image

quite a change from yesterday

a variable south west-south east flow

now we have a trough over wales which will probably effect areas north and west of our region in the afternoon

other areas mainly dry but the odd homegrown cannot be ruled out

temps

18-22  locally a 25 cannot be ruled out if you see a sustained period of the sun

----------------------------------------------------------------------

no point doing anymore until i get more info

regards

john

I need a warm'ish and dry Sunday AM if I am to temp my mother out to do a car boot sale, us being in the west does not look too promising unless it holds off until midday (which it might).

Wasn't winter grim! I haven't seen snow since March 2013, got withdrawal symptoms and it's only June! Judging by the latest bbc forecast, the storms will be a bit hit and miss!

I agree. Today my wife and I went down to Southend and sat on the beach all day. it was breezy and cool when out of shelter, but virtually unbroken sunshine. I am in spite of or because of the breeze a very silly red colour and about to apply after burn.Returning home to Chelmsford it is still fairly breezy.Looking at the charts and what others have written I am only moderately confident we will experience anything stormy tonight or tomorrow.Kind Regardsdave

Judging from the activity in here, I take it we are not expecting much in our neck of the woods? Am I right in thinking this is a south coast southwest event drifting north and basically bypassing us?

Nope, our chances have gone up, we could see something tonight, and more activity tomorrow.

Looks like we have less of a chance, but who knows, it's such a messy situation. If we don't get anything tomorrow, there may be some more chances on Monday.

Sometimes I think you are living in the Middle East, we did get a fair amount of snow showers in April 2013 none of which settled snow is snow. We got nothing at all 13/14 Winter, enjoy the season for what it is. Time should be utilized, not disregarded :good:

I don't remember April 2013, they may have missed my region! It sometimes feels like the middle east when it gets hot and humid.....yuck!
