hi chris

being at the far edge of the low pressure you are likely to be mainly dry

cannot rule out the odd shower but nothing heavy

my call at present for where you are would be dry and temps around 17 degrees

Thanks John - sounds good!  What's your view on tonight?  From the NW radar, the rain seems to be staying just to the east of me, and the lightning strikes are over the coast.

Ah the chasing storms season is upon us a little like the snow depth cup lmfa. Entertains me and I love the banter on the convection thread. Almost like pass the Prozac all the way through the winter. I can confirm on my return from my ga meeting. It's p@ssing down and I don't have a jacket damn.

I've had trouble downloading the photo's to my laptop but hopefully finally managed it. With any luck these should show the fiery sunset here in north west London earlier this evening, not enhanced in any way, just taken on a normal camera with settings for sunset.

i think its a wait and see chris i am afraid

http://www.raintoday.co.uk/

but looking at this its taking a shift to the north west so you should have a shout at something soon

theres also plenty coming out of france and think this could go on for quite a while yet

whether thundery or just heavy rain later is a tricky call

tomorrow

Posted Image

a southerly flow which will be breezy but not strong

temps around 17-21 degrees the warmest looks norfolk way

early morning showers should clear and we should see some early sunshine

however

as that trough moves in we have another chance of some heavy thundery showers

not for all and will be localised so watch the radar tomorrow

regards

I think most lightning activity in Europe is dying off now, we have had more chances this year so far then I can remember during this time of year in subsequent years. Its only May so we have a few months to get it right... for once!

Just been outside its spitting a bit and everything is slightly damp, the smell is amazing! Just shows how a few warm days can really get everything growing. Looking to my ESE towards London I can see some very dark clouds even in the darkness.

Nothing here yet, whilst there is rain on the way. There have been no real reports of anything further south apart from the initial rain which clipped the east coast. Time to call it a night. The window is open just in case that any storms do turn up :p

Just starting to spit here, but nowt on the lightening detector. Put my son's stuff that has been out in the garden in the garage to stop it getting wet. Rock and roll.

It started raining here a few minutes ago, but it's sporadic and the only rumbles and bangs were from a firework do somewhere nearby.

Yet another big let down and major disappointment :-( occluded triple point and the point comes right through the west Home Counties! Action to the east and action to the west but completely splits over here yet again!! Typical!!

Hi Greig. If you could put your location in your profile, it would be good. Then we know what neck of the woods you're reporting on. Thanks. :good:

Very calm here in Cowes, I didn't even realise it was raining quite so hard until

the cat fell through the cat flap looking a bit spangled.

Would've thought you were getting some thunder action tonight! If all is calm in Cowes, then nothing to see or hear in London tonight!

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
