Looking increasingly likely on a boom or bust scenario tomorrow night as very warm air pushes northwards and clips the South east

Trouble is this could easily miss us and hit Belgium and Holland instead.

Yes - and going on current form I would not bet against a Low Country storm again..... Atleast we have plenty of summer to come which will hopefully bring the storms.

Gutted up north is stealing the limelight, this region has done dire. The MCS disintegrated then guess what it went Belgiuim :p We have had nothing at all this week, a average week so far. You cannot forecast storms it's totally by chance, we will get our 'bomb' when we least expect it :) It is depressing to see the continent having a fiesta meanwhile we are stuck under dark clouds, that do nothing at all

Evening all, still waiting for the apocalyptic storms to happen, no change there then. On another note for first time in months I go in model thread and the the last posts are about current set ups similar to 2007, I bloody hope not, I am cursed.....:(

Meanwhile quite muggy, with a slight breeze.

Well the old saying if anything can go wrong it usually does when it comes to thunderstorms in the se .something has happened in the last 15 years that prevents imports .I remember the 70's and 80's and the allnighters and the customary 4am wake up calls .thank god I have them memories coz I would of gone nuts by now........

http://www.raintoday.co.uk/

maybe a shower or 2

warm

not sure if i would stay up for them though

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

tomorrow

Posted Image

a breezy east-south east flow

this chart above is for 8pm

rainfall

Posted Image

a chance of a few showers to our far east areas but looks dry elsewhere if not cloudy

by 2pm

Posted Image

still the odd shower around but overall still looks dry if not cloudy

by 8pm

Posted Image

some heavier showers moving into the south east and southern regions

these may be heavy and a thundery risk is there

look at the fax chart as this shows the warm from touching the far south east corner

now as we go on to midnight

Posted Image

a variable flow

now rainfall for 2am

Posted Image

that is linked to the triple front showing on the fax and a fair chance of some storms there

this is assuming the fax chart has located this right

however we do have some unstable air overnight and better conditions for us

looks interesting tomorrow night

however there looks like timing differences between ukmo and gfs on this

best advice is watch the radar and see what happens

thursday soon

rainfall

Posted Image

overnight to morning the heavier showers have transferred more to our north buit still scattered showers around for most

Posted Image

as we get to the afternoon things should start to clear up for all

temps

Posted Image

could get quite warm

around 18-21 degrees and likely to feel humid

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

thursday night

Posted Image

Sunny start to the day here, will we get some thunderstorms tonight? That is the big question.

Estofex going for Level 2 in France,

post-5986-0-53387100-1400656213_thumb.pn

Storms in France form in high theta-w environment that advects NE to the SE corner overnight,

post-5986-0-56062000-1400656825_thumb.gipost-5986-0-60431000-1400656834_thumb.gipost-5986-0-66304900-1400656843_thumb.gipost-5986-0-48117600-1400656851_thumb.gipost-5986-0-37651500-1400656863_thumb.gi

DPs look high enough for any storms that form in the channel to survive the trip, and whilst no chance of home grown stuff, skew-t profile suggests a moderately convective atmosphere which also gives extra weight to French imports surviving at least into East Kent

post-5986-0-32412200-1400656645_thumb.gi post-5986-0-43859900-1400656696_thumb.gi

It's certainly going to be very wet, with a very real chance of thunderstorms being imported. Main risk is Kent/Sussex late evening, into the early hours with, possibly, E Anglia into the early hours.

yay! like a good overnight summer storm

last year there was a full moon giving the sky a Victorian/ Tuner look - I fell asleep before the storms arrived though.
