Evening all

been rather wet/damp dull and dismal evening here, feeling cooler too with it all, I did nip out earlier (had to get to the bank to do a reccy on how much was left (not a lot) and pop to the shop).

My female cockatiel is not well, she has a cold and is wheezing and sneezing a lot, added some tonic to their water (need to add energy in the form of sugar), she is not standing still though, very active.

Errrrmmm - Respiratory infections need antibiotics fast Jax - get thee to a decent avian vet please!Piggies are the same as birds and can go downhill fast (My last piggie vet was also an extremely experienced avian vet and taught me a lot).I now have a stash of antibiotics/other drugs (actually a reasonable pharmacy!) and ring my vet (at all times of day or night) to get permisssion to dose the appropriate meds til I can get them into the vet for exam/sign off said meds.

Hope Lady Jax cockatiel will recover.xxxxWeather wise - grey/dull/misty/rain all day - then coming back from Farnham 8pm tonight I saw the weather system clear and we ended up with  clear skies and a beautiful sunset.

Morning all (including those in central/southern England) :)

Bright start to the day, though cloud is already starting to bubble up. Will there be any storms today?

Still a modest chance.

Saturday still looks better for thunderstorms.

Morning all,

Woke up to wall to wall sunshine in Barnehurst, get to work and it's cloudy and really quite windy out there.

I'm full of cold so roll on 4.30pm where I can go home and get some rest!

Have a good day :good:

Morning folks, saw some cracking morning cb's over Lincoln this morning, got some pics :)

Think there could be some more showers to follow throughout the morning up this way before returning to Cambridgeshire this evening

Drizzly, grey and humid sums up the current weather after a very breezy start; sun trying to make its way through the clouds. Might pop to the convective thread to see if there is any possibility of a storm this afternoon.

We have that too. Very strange. Dead still one minute then strong gusts for about 30 seconds, then dead still again.

Afternoon all

Been a gusty but warm day here, some longer sunny intervals helping there, think we have missed any showers so far today, may nip out quickly as I will not be able to tomorrow morning.

Some sad news, the female Cockatiel died in the night, not the start to the day we wanted :(

Well I'm glad that is fixed Paul :good:

Not great storm wise today, although I never expected anything for the SE. Rather disappointing, but Saturday is the next shot, tomorrow is looking very wet indeed. Thunder was mentioned on the forecast.

Blustery day, the plastic cream chairs done somersaults ;):D

I'll do a roundup tonight, John must be having the time of his life! I spoke too soon it appears that Mr Pike has returned, it will still go ahead though. Last time until we get some exceptional weather. That oughts to be told.

I assume just for total dissatisfaction that these are British imports

Barely seen a threatening cloud today, just fair weather stuff. Oh well tomorrow promises more.

Yeah indeed they are, we give but get not a sausage in return these days!

Rest of the weekend looking promising anyway :)

Omg omg omg, cannot explain how thrilled I am about commenting on the GFS 06z about the despair of that retrogression, then what do you know, its completely gone out of the window with the idea, instead we get a retrogressing low pressure which may actually lead to a Euro ridge perhaps :D  :yahoo:

Couple of blustery showers today - both of them while I was out in the open with a broken brolly. Disappointing given that there appeared to be a fair bit of convection this morning.

I knew the flat's management co. were planning to cut a couple of dead cherry trees in the garden down today. I wasn't expecting them to chop down everything more than a foot above the ground!

Evening All :hi:

...........................................

Tonight

post-19153-0-94466800-1399664743_thumb.j

Relatively mild, cooler further inland. Between 6-10c, May speaking average.

Dry until the early hours, when a band of rain sweeps east engulfing the whole of our region

Spiralling depression, incoming from the Atlantic. Windy ol night to our West, will be breezy here as well.

...........................................

Tomorrow Saturday

Starting on a wet note, heavy persistent rain inbound for most of the day.

Maxima for Saturday

post-19153-0-15185800-1399666089_thumb.j

16-18c a muggy day - note the continent starting to warm up. This bodes well for later on.

post-19153-0-12627200-1399666396_thumb.j

CAPE looks very limited tomorrow a bid downgrade from GFS 12z Ireland still in with a chance

Reminds me of last Winter, the chase for Cold was always on the Horizon

The forecast mentioned Thundery showers, well on that bases of ^ Looks unlikely

...........................................

(Website went extremely buggy)

Saturday Evening

post-19153-0-76883400-1399667269_thumb.j

Quite tight isobars, therefore some strong gusts, coast will bear the brunt of the Strong winds

Nothing damaging, but certainly windy nonetheless

^ Very reminiscent of Winter 2013/2014... Depressions galore.

...........................................

Enjoy your weekend :good:
