Pretty dissapointing to be honest, here. I was expecting quite a few downpours today but we haven't had anything since last night.

Which forecast were you expecting that from William, the fewest and/or lightest showers were always going to be further SW due to the HIGH pressure beginning to build in. Even in West Wiltshire I am surprised there are some heavy showers ongoing this late in the afternoon as I expected them be dying off due to the HIGH.

The BBC Weather Forecast showed a shower over us at 16:00, it never happened. But, yes not now I wouldn't expect. :D

Yep that's probably the dark skies that passed over here dumped some hail then decided to spit out sferics after leaving....

Damn that sucks, MK almost always does better for storms then here! Wasnt much of a storm though, didn't observe any lightning but had about 5 good rumbles! No rain but 5 mins of pea size hail. Perhaps another will form over the next hour or so....

@TheToastPeople. Sky to the NW of MK is pitch black again and I'm pretty sure I could hear low rumbling distant thunder a couple of mins ago out towards Towcester area. Might be in luck yet and perhaps Kempstons 2nd bout?

Quite a long shot but WOW, start of next week is certainly looking stunning with active rashes of storms, from the south, affecting the majority of the country

Torrential rain & pea sized hail falling for the last 10 minutes in MK from a huge CB with a very long out stretched anvil, but sadly no lightning & thunder at all which has supprised me totally as it's gaining strength all the time.....  :cc_confused:

What a storm earlier that was! It went on to produce a funnel cloud in Chatteris too as seen on look East! Wish I'd chased it further !!

It certainly was!! I drove through it on my way home, as I was heading East on the M180 I could see the sky getting blacker and blacker and it hit just as I was going over the Trent Bridge. Heavy rain, pink lightning bolts and virtually nil visibility on the motorway, came out if it just past Brigg and it was lightning constantly, 4 miles up the road and nothing, nice and sunny all the way back to the coast. Was interesting driving through it to say the least!! Edited by GlennP

That looks interesting! Starting study leave next week anyway. So, some time to watch some storms if not revising. LOL :D

Great stuff mate :-)  Looks like something heading down the east coast currently just north of Tyne and Wear but not sure if anything electrical from it.  Seemed to be pulsing on the radar from heavy to weaker rainfall so who knows will keep you updated..

This was facing south. Front seemed more stronger across the ridge (South Downs) Panorama view of the Cb skycape.
