Sun broken out here too. Fingers crossed, but I'm not holding my breath as I think I'm too north today.

Heavy downpours developing over the Midlands could these turn thundery?

Well despite the rain....temps holding steady and there are some opposing wind vectors up there

The rains big and warm.....It's looking good...But very early days :good:

I think I have worked out my target area. Despite my earlier thoughts my target area is going to be around Birmingham/Coventry. This places me under the convergence zone at time of peak heating, all I will need is for there to actually be some heating.

Oh, and sun is out here now :)

Horrible day here, fog and drizzle all morning and still no sign of it clearing!

Probably too far North for any storms today anyway.

Overcast with the occasional spell of light rain. Certainly doesn't feel like the prelude to thunderstorms.

Ah lovely, the MetO have adjusted the yellow warning a bit further N and E so I am more within the zone of interest....shame the sky is still completely clouded - that said the cloud is become more cumuliform and less stratified which is encouraging at least.

Nah its ice cold rain you want - colder it is, then the likelier its fallen from higher in atmosphere from bigger clouds :D

Clouds are shooting up around here and it is turning darker to the east/south east. Only a light shower on the radar but it looks to be developing from my position (still in Derby).

Indeed...think it'll be a nowcast jobby for me personally. Just going to wait and see what happens. Still rather cloudy here but the sun is almost breaking through and it does feel quite humid.

Still quite overcast here however the sun has been shining through the clouds and certainly getting thinner by the minute.

Positively however any storms that do form within Wales should be heading for the Bristol/Gloucester/Wiltshire, so my eyes are open for them areas.

The cells sat around London do look good at the moment.

Expecting some sferic activity over London in the next half an hour or so. Cells seem to be developing there by the minute.

There's certainly some downpours about, and in my context, thundery (without any electrical activity)

Convection definitely beginning to kick off here in South Bristol, clouds beginning to tower up nicely to my NE.

Which way r the cells near London heading??

NW/N/NE depending on what location you are at, though they are very slow moving.

Cells beginning to look more potent now across West Wales, same with the area of rain around Dorset and Reading.
