Showers kicking off over the Pennines - looks spot on for what Metoffice is predicting in their precipitation forecast so far.

Looks like those NE of the Pennines will do the best out of today, I'm too west by the looks of it.

Cell has developed very fast between Stoke and Macclesfield. I would keep an eye on this for possible thunderstorm as it moves towards Manchester.

Can't see any structure to the cell approaching here, too much mid-layering although RADAR is showing some intensification over the past half-hour. Eyes and ears are open.

Thunderstorm risk tomorrow?  That'l be the third time that's been forecasted then lol

Opportunities should be better tomorrow, not least because these should be moving in a prevailing W-E direction, unlike the last few days where it was E-W.

Possibly some stuff popping up South of Derby, been very warm here today but the suns not really been able to break through

A bit of structure poking through currently, looking like your typical TCU structure with convection building up just behind the glare, turrents streaming out from the mid-layers also.

I'm watching that as it is set to track straight over the top of me :)

The storm by Stoke-on-Trent does look to be the most intense out of all the showers.

Anyhow the current GFS 12z run has continued to forecast the risk of a few heavy showers and thunderstorms tomorrow, most of central southern England and Wales highest at risk, but also the chance for eastern areas including the midlands too.

Well that was unexpected. Nothing of real interest on the radar, but dark skies and a humid/moist feel encouraged me. The last 10 minutes here has seen a barrage of torrential convective rain and hail, turning the streets into rivers. Awesome :D

I watched the cell just explode into life to the NW, still bone dry here and very humid, liking the looks of those skies in Derby spenna!
