I can't believe how cold it is. I had an appointment this morning which was in a building by the river and the wind was bitter. And coming home, the river stank to high Heaven of rotten eggs. Never smelt it that bad before. :O Yukitty Yuk!

Now there are some big, grey clouds building up and it looks like rain.

Yes...the forum has been a bit quieter for a while...but no bad thing imo. Much like it was when I first joined.

Afternoon all

 

 

A bright and breezy day here, this morning was fantastic and wall to wall blue skies at sunrise, could moved in late morning and now back to brighter with some sunny spells as the stiff breeze pushes the clouds through.  Whilst not cold it remains cooler feeling and it is dry still.

 

Did not let the cold beat me and went to work, but I must admit for the first time in over 4 (or is it 5?) years I considered taking a sick day, but once the morning cuppa was had I felt a tad better.

Evening all

Wow it's quiet in here. But as some have said, pretty much non-discript weather.

It's been sunny all day here today, which is misleading from inside the office. As I'm expecting it to be nice and warm. But no it's Brrrrrr outside. Just put the heating on, and that is pretty much a first for me in April.

Afternoon all,

 

Dry day today, around 12C and very much defined by a chilly westerly wind, fairly cloudy with some occasional sunshine and as SteveC said, rather nondescript weather.

 

Walked along a section of the River Medway in Maidstone early this morning, was certainly sunny and cold in the wind with a temperature of around 7C.

 

Although very near to the urban centre of Maidstone you wouldn't know it, love this ancient London Plane tree near the river bank, saw several like this, it must have witnessed many a flood in its lifetime.

There were some serene patterns and reflections on the gently flowing river.

Who knows? Maybe we are the multidimensional dream of far more advanced beings than ourselves and we pass on, when they wake up? - not that I believe any of what I've just written for a moment Having said that, I think my last musing was more believable than the first comment posted on the link.

 

What time is the eclipse next Tuesday, by the way?

Starting around 5 in the morning, but I don't think it's approaching anything near total as viewed from the UK, as it will set before that, but I might be wrong on that.

My new laptop arrived this afternoon and quite frankly I would find it easier piloting an Airbus A380 than navigating my way around Windows 8.1. Admittedly I'm  a numpty with computers but tjhis one has me completely baffled and bewildered.

 

For what's it's worth today was a bit chilly

Good luck with that, I hate windows 8 and will stick with ubuntu and W7.

Sunny here again this morning. Although a long way out, it looks like Easter might be unsettled, which would be a shame. Plenty of time for things to change though.

I've just looked at the Model Thread and have seen a posting by Captain Shortwave, mentioning the GEM model forecast for early Easter. It does look pretty bad.

 

 

Having said that, I'd be really surprised if a sub 970 low was sat over southern England in mid to late April. I suppose it can happen, but I for one would be very surprised if something like this evolution unfolded. Unsettled, wet and breezy / windy, yes, but potentially stormy? I have major doubts.
