A lot of high cloud and haze about but another beautiful day in Essex with warm sunshine. Thought I'd go for a walk down in Southend at lunch time but to my surprise when I got to the the sea front I suddenly couldn't see a thing, totally clear just 100ft inland yet the promenade is shrouded in thick fog

Why are they chasing cold weather in the model thread? I mean just look outside and feel that warm sunshine... WHY!! would you want cold? Don't get it... It would mess up stuff now blossom is coming out DAMN!

Blame the GFS and ECM and some April forecasts. The models keep showing northerly outbreaks and some forecasters are going for a cold unsettled April.

Brighton webcam still showing fog - will it be there when we arrive (the fog, I mean, not Brighton)

Glorious in Reigate but the temperature had plummeted from 17c to 15.9c but has now rocketed back up to 16.2c.  OK, I accept plummeted and rocketed might be a bit melodramatic but what the hell, it's Friday....

its foggy still here at 3pm Posted Image  on the coast..i don't see it being burnt off this late if it has not already.

.a WNW breeze over the weekend should mean the fog is blown out to see/burnt off.

Found out why I don't work from home that often, working away happily upstairs, found I missing some specialised technical information, went downstairs made a coffee, rung someone up who I knew would have the info, he was in a meeting, sat down, bloke woke me up 31/2 hours later, and the coffee was cold. Put the sleep down to the pressure I been under this last week so must have needed it, that my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

Thanks for my gold star MK, haven't had one of them for over 50 years :-) weather looked beautiful out there today, but breeze has got up, which might help out with the fog not forming later. Blimey a weather forecast as well, will wonders ever cease?

Afternoon all

Another bright and sunny day after a very dense foggy start this morning, was making driving rather tricky just after 06:00 this morning I can tell you, didnt seem to deter the tailgater I had until I reached the dual and they roared off like it was clear summers day (idiots!).

Anyway, for some of us the weekend has now arrived Posted Image and that includes me :) , a two dayer this time as well (two sleeps in on the bounce, YES!)

I hope you are all well, fine and dandy and your day has been equally as good and it does continue that way.

I mentioned a week back that I went to the New Forest and some pics were taken of the ponies and countryside. Well, fwiw, here a few of them as I have finally got them downloaded. Incompatibilty of camera to computer programmes I will lay the blame at, rather than any technophobe woman struggling to work out how to reconcile the programmesPosted Image Posted Image

This was during the early stages of the much better weather and things were still drying out - still, conditions in the forest themselves were a lot better than I expected considering the collosal amounts of rain over the winter season. *Good weather related on-topic bridging to the post inserted here*Posted Image

So we start with a girlfriend/ boyfriend pony couple at the stables I visited.

Bobbi, in her stable waiting in vain for peppermintsPosted Image  (I had none to offer her)

and Sam, her other half, having made his way to the fence in the field to see who the new visitor was

Posted Image20140307_124056.jpg  Posted Image20140307_124852.jpg

The views from the lovely £1.5 million Farmhouse looked out over an acreage of gardens and towards Southampton on the horizon

Posted Image20140307_124022.jpg

In the forest itself, close to the village of Minstead, we stopped the car for a moment and took a few more pics of the ponies that were roaming in the woodland fields next to the roadside. They also came over to see me and my friend as we sat in the carPosted Image

Posted Image20140307_130132.jpg Posted Image20140307_130132.jpg   Posted Image20140307_130204 (1).jpg

Well, most of them anyway

Posted Image20140307_130225.jpg

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend and enjoys the sunshine and warm temperatures expected, with the fine weather staying into the early part of next week. As suggested in previous weather pattern update posts, the jet stream is set to flatten out, strengthen and return south thereafter with things becoming colder and more unsettled with wind and rain for us from mid week. The worst of the conditions though should be away from our region in the Northern parts of the UK

Great photos Tams, they've come out really well and as you know, I'm a sucker for a horse photo.

Really wish you'd let me call you Tammy though! And to keep the horsey link going, look at this, the result of the Foxhunters at Cheltenham:

16:00 Cheltenham

Full result Result 16:00 Cheltenham Pos Horse Odds

1st 21 Tammys Hill (IRE) 15/2

2nd 3 Carsonstown Boy (IRE) 40/1

3rd 16 On The Fringe (IRE) 11/2

Winning TrainerL Lennon

Winning JockeyMr J J Smyth

Runners 24 ran

Now if the fella had beed called Tams or Tamaras Hill, we would have been laughing, couldnt back it though as it's a form of your name you dislike.

Anyway, really liking the photos, Tammy! Smile!

Tommy!

The fields are almost dry!  Woohoo!  Had a lovely dog walk.  Except the farmer decided to plough one of his fields and I couldn't get across.  Very inconsiderate of him, I feel.  He could have phoned me first...checked my plans...contacted me on facebook.  Doesn't he know who I am?  Still was very pleasant nonetheless and I need my weetabix so I'll let him off. Hate to pop your bubble CM, but Weetabix are local here and they source as much (if not all) of their material locally :p

And the cloud has arrived :( just been out to the bin and it is dull, cooler and a bit breezy out now, just hope Sunday holds its promise of calm warm sunny conditions so I can visit the local nature lakes that morning.

Another lovely sunny afternoon here, warm again too. Even the weekend looks decent for this region. To think after the horrors of the winter just gone, the first half of March has almost been bone dry. Who would have thought it.

Hopefully Sunday should be nice. I don't think it'll be calm though (not windy mind you) :)
