Still cloudy here, sun having real difficulty breaking through.

Sunny, warm and humid now, up to 16℃

It should be nice for an evening fishing session, shame about the weak converging in though.

There is a nice rain band coming up from the SW, now. It's mainly light rain to moderate rain. Hopefully, it may turn to heavy rain. But, it looks like thunder is out of the question, for the time being.

The rain band doesn't really seem to be doing much just slowing sliding it's way towards the SW, once this band passes though that's when the heavy showers seem to be coming in and then the real action begins tomorrow.

No it's not sliding away towards the SW, it's moving NE.

Stupid mistake, I meant the NE. Thanks for correcting me, though still no development from the rain band, probably going to end up being a dull light rain band...

As usual. Though, there was a thunderstorm 2 days ago. So, I'm not too sad.

Fergie's TV forecast mirrors the model output for tomorrow...Looks very promising for thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon, especially for Gloucs/Wilts & BANES

That would certainly do me alright :),  good luck to all you lot tomorrow! The GFS does indicate some of the best Li's and CAPE there tomorrow.

Hi from my untrained eye we look like we may avoid a frost this weekend. Can anyone confirm if they agree as its important for me from my allotment point of view?

REPORT

April 2014 was a typical month with something for everyone with a strong emphasis on showery conditions. Rainfall totals were not far from average while temperatures ended somewhat above the long term April mean for us by 0.6C though there were no remarkably warm days with temperatures staying several degrees shy of the magic 21C 70F. There were some chilly nights with grass frosts but no sub zero temperatures were registered at this location. In addition there were quite a few misty and chilly mornings with thick fog on two occasions for several hours around the dawn periods of the 11th & 30th. There was one occasion of thunder on the 20th and hail on the 28th. Sunshine amounts were a little below the average for the area, hardly surprising given the generally unsettled pattern of the month as a whole but this was compensated by strong warmth when it shone. Winds were non problematic leaving the month as a whole non eventful overall.
