Hi Andy,

Wonder if we will get snow here tonight as we often seem to get lucky when localised wintriness is in the forecast.

Hi Andy,

Well surprisingly there's been some wet snow and graupel in the heaviest bursts of this first shower so who knows what may happen overnight! And that was with the temperature still at 7.6c when it started although it's now dropped quickly to 5.7c!

I can't help but think what this exact set up would have delivered even 4 weeks ago, let alone had it occurred when we were under the Atlantic onslaught!

I'm from Poole, staying in Tedburn St Mary, hoping to go up and have a look today, quite a few showers spreading in from channel at the mo hope the upper air holds, although it looks like becoming marginal during the day.

I have just enjoyed watching a soft hail shower move over with some large polystyrene ball style 'stones' falling and breaking up on impact. It's come from the edge of a developing shower and given the radar across the area I would love to be under the intense cells to see what is possible. A lovely clean convective sky with CBs everywhere and large blue sky breaks in between.

Random solitary lightning bolt struck here in Penryn about an hour ago. Seemed to strike the university campus. Instantaneous thunder and I think it struck only about 20-50m away from me! Never been that close before! and not sure I want to get any closer!!!

Very loud rumble of thunder here in Arborfield. Didn't see any lightning but raining quite heavily now.

It seems everybody has had a rumble or two today, i've missed everything. :(

Would you Adam & eve it?! Large hail shower, then it turned to set snow. I'm only 10m above sea level too. :)

We had that one here as well, funnily enough! Second storm of the day as well, after three rumbles of thunder and some heavy hail mid-afternoon.

Massive snow here. Right on the edge of marginal. Huge wet flakes. Not laying but not seen it this heavy in years. Princetown must be getting buried

Out of interest temps got down to 1.8c with a dew point of -1.5C  when the wet snow was at its height. Can still happen at the back end of March then!

There's deep, low, bass thunder here, moving up from the south coast. :D

Steady rain and 4.4℃

Decent thundery activity in the early hours this morning.

The ground has now turned white as a heavy hail shower comes through the area.
