And I have still not watched that DVD that has to go back tomorrow to the library!

@Iceni, sorry to hear that, bloody frustrating when you expected seasoned. Had my wood burner put in beginning of December, so a new learning curve for me, I brought a cubic metre of 'seasoned Oak' which was so wet, had to put it in the log store and buy from another place to see us through. I'm still trying to understand how best to use the vent, air system to get the most heat input.

One eventful hail event during this afternoon and some driving rain and now a fair 3.7 degrees. Have a good weekend all.

this winter is officialy the worst ever for snow,in all my 37 years this is the first time ive failed to see a single snowflake.even in the 90s we had at least a snow shower to get excited about.oh well onwards and upwards, hopefully a good spring and a cracking summer, with homegrown and imports, lovely

All the snow's gone!

This is Christina Lake, BC Canada... temperatures are currently above freezing at 1.7ºC. Elsewhere there's still a lot of snow, but it shows how powerful the sun is getting now to melt 3 foot of snow which was still there just a few days ago on a SW facing hillside.

Light at the end of the tunnel  Posted Image as once N America/Canada warm up, it's bye bye to that dratted Polar Vortex which is giving us such a bad time.

gfs 12z ensembles

from the 6th high pressure looks to take a hold for a little while

from the 9th though ignore gfs as is an outlier of sorts

note the conditions showing a lot dryer from the 6th too

1 thing to note though

it looks likely to get cold again 11th onwards

will try to update soon

having issues tonight with my computer

hope your all well

Less than an hour to go before we wave goodbye to winter '13/14... Good riddance as far as the lack of snow or any potential goes!

Fingers crossed we have a perfect Spring - warm, sunny and dry.

In the mean time, are we having a New Spring Party at midnight when we wave goodbye to winter and celebrate spring with some virtual fireworks?!

No snow - hardly surprising. Heavy rain mid afternoon.

Spotted magnolias and daffs out on my way home, which is cheering

13.6mm of rain here today and counting

I'd be interested to see what SteeveCoops has recorded today in Rayleigh, see how light my station reads because of next doors tree Posted Image

I got 9.9mm today.

Fuming at the moment as someone's parked in our driveway parking space. Well technically the driveway it belongs to UK Power Networks, but we own the land next to it and behind it and the house opposite it has guided someone into it. It's directly outside my front door - they've parked infront of the bins here (old Google streetview) https://www.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=ss6+9tl&aq=&sll=51.79671,0.638411&sspn=1.314759,3.034973&vpsrc=6&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Rayleigh+SS6+9TL,+United+Kingdom&ll=51.591028,0.58272&spn=0.000002,0.001482&t=h&z=20&iwloc=A&layer=c&cbll=51.591028,0.58272&panoid=QVKUB_fJhKOP1dNRHFAB9g&cbp=12,286.26,,0,17.67

I can't do much about it (certainly can't damage anything!) but I have lifted the car's wipers so they know I've touched it.

Do you not drive Steve?

I'd be inclined to block him in, post a note on his car "gone away for the weekend".

I'd have ripped his Windscreen Wipers off let alone just lifting them up!

Morning all, hope everyone feeling well, looks like its a nice morning out there, seems dry.

Shopping and a business meeting today, with the build up to the great wedding fair tomorrow. Want to have a good moan, I know its unlike me. But why do the FA, TV companies and the police think its a good idea to start a football match where 30,000 people are attending at midday on a Sunday, there's four quarter finals to be played, and of course the team with the longest journey has the earliest start, its so early that if I wanted to catch the first train out of London then I would arrive at the nearest station 7 minutes after the kick off with still another 15 minutes to walk to the station. The coaches the clubs are laying on to get the fans from London there start leaving the Kent and Sussex Coastal towns at 4:30, I will be leaving at 6:30. Why because football has sold its soul to the tv companies. End of rant, sorry.

Have a nice day, enjoy the shopping.

Morning everyone and a very happy first day of spring. :)

It's started well here with clear skies and a temp of 3.4c

Today I plan to nip round the house for a quick clean and then veg on the sofa for the rest of the day...because I can.

Hope everyone is happy and healthy, have a good day all.

Oh Lloyd I hope you are feeling better soon.

No fog here - damp patches froze overnight but the frost is melting fast in the lovely bright sunshine - hopefully this is a good start to what will be a lovely spring !

Enjoy your weekend folks :-)

Morning all. It's a reasonable start to the day here, dry and fairly bright so musn't grumble.

Happy St Davids Day to Ruthie and anyone else from that neck of the woods. I wonder if there are any plans afoot to make the eloquent and critically acclaimed AS an honorary Welshman in the not too distant future ? Posted Image

No fog here Ruth, are you sure it's not smoke ?
