This certainly is a far cry from endless snow showers rattling into the East and then surging on into the Midlands. I've missed that so much this winter! Remember being in Leicester area during December 2010, really was pretty mental the rate of snow coming down!

Always next winter folks! Should be 10x better, it cant be hard can it? Posted Image

I'm not going to bother lamppost watching... I'll just have to find something more productive to do....like sleep! I wonder how much time I've wasted over the years watching a bright orange light Posted Image

Temp's dropped by over 8'C since mid afternoon to 5.3'C now. The forecast is 3'C and bone dry. Looks nasty heading in towards the channel at the moment on the old radar!

Depending on the amount of rain tomorrow I might venture onto the garden this weekend to lower my weather station a bit as since I moved it up higher on a pole it shakes in strong winds and produces rain readings even when dry (it's reported 44cm of rain just in Feb Posted Image ), but the bog of a garden has been a no go zone this year!

I have had the same problem more so this winter with these storms

the fax chart above has no 528 dam air line showing

this is not helpful

so doing update later so i can get the 6pm one

I stared at it for a while, to no avail :-) although one thing crossed my mind, if this was a 'spot the difference' quiz it could prove quite a challenge!! :-)  Now down to 2c here.

Evening cheeky chaps and chapesses :)

my attempt to remain awake till a bit later has been 50/50 so maybe missed some weather going on outside (well none that I know of inside), just looked out and stars are out and calm and cool out there right now.

Lots of reports of the Northern Lights being visible as far South as Essex and South Wales all over Twitter! https://twitter.com/chasethestorm/status/439139401911009280/photo/1 I'm going out for a look, even though I don't have much chance at all here!

incoming now but a few hours to wait

pretty cold before hand so a chance something may

be wintry when the rain hits the cold air

tomorrow

my thoughts are mainly rain

however i still think there will be localised snowfall

so we will likely see something but more for viewing purposes

also more likely pm to evening as it gets colder

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

will post the 6pm one later

tomorrow night

a colder flow east-north east

will be cold

i reckon a fair chance again of seeing some snow

but more likely mixed with rain

the 8 inch predictions should have said 8 snowflakes

however surprises are always possible with this set up

more to follow
