Woke up to thunder before 7am,then the first thunderstorm for 2 years came overhead,rain was heavy.

A few nice long turrets on the back edge.

Well I may be here in Falmouth but I'm very pleased for Stourbridge as looking at the radar it copped some of the heaviest rain and some of the higher density of strikes along with parts of Worcester and Hereford. In the last few years home has often done well in these set ups. Saying that, isn't that about the 3rd or 4th year in a row now there has been a storm to wake people up about 7am now? Seems

At least an annual occurrence at the moment.

One storm here lasting about an hour from 03.35, only produced 6.5mm rain, but plenty of thunder and sheet lightning.  Looking back at the radar, it would appear that the worst was to our west.

Had plenty of thunder and lightning around 5am, wasn't no thunderstorm though and it passed through fairly quickly, did catch fork lightning which was impressive to see.

So far it seems the West Midlands region and parts of the West Country have done the best out of the UK so far.

Tropical rain here in Gloucester and constant thunder last 20 mins. Garage flooded. Bring it on !    :clap:John in Quedgeley, Gloucester

Meanwhile in Longlevens on the other side of Glos, we had the thunder but no rain at all. Still bone dry here....for now!

Plenty of continuous thunder earlier, with some hefty rain for a short while. Cloud to ground lightning on one occasion and the thunder really shook the house! Eyes to the south now for more pyrotechnics
