Tipping it down. That's pretty much it. Ha.

The radar's showing some red's nearby and the rain's trying to get heavier, but the sky's still brightish too - overcast though. Do hope there'll be something stormy. *fingers-crossed*

What a grim start to May! Although also very interesting.

Persistent rain for the last 4 hours but also bright most of the time too with hazy/lightbulb sun between large banks of what appear to be TCu beneath the thin frontal rain cloud. Some very heavy bursts of rain developing quite widely now with a particularly eye catching line through Wiltshire towards South Gloucestershire.

I wonder whether some of the towering clouds are forming downpours as part of the main frontal system.

Cloudy murky muck left over from the earlier rain leaves me with that sinking feeling again.

Sun is trying to break through, but looks unlikely to at the moment, and with every passing minute the chance of our storms diminish.

Sun is out, but shower activity is moving in a South East direction.

Thought it was supposed to be moving in a North East direction :cc_confused:

Unlikely to make it over the Bristol channel if it does indeed continue in a South easterly direction

What I thought as well? Let's just hope however that the dreaded Bristol Channel doesn't kill anything off.

Convection really beginning to kick off now!

Hope not, but not ideal for us here on the other side of the channel.

We will see!

How disappointing. Despite the promise we didn't even get a spot of rain here yesterday let alone anything more interesting! It actually ended up being a rather nice afternoon.

A cold night head with temps below freezing, but i think that'll be more so out in the sticks with city/town temps staying around the +2 +3 mark.

Maybe the last time we will be seeing charts like this for a while.... how long now is it till November! lol :whistling:
