Perfect summer day here today with cloudless skies, a warm drying breeze and a high of 30.5C - the highest here so far this year. If only could continue into August.

I may as well call winter off with sweeping statements like that.

That is a rather premature assumption

29.4c the max here, so unofficially just about the hot spot in Wales (barring I suppose Porthmadog as usual :) )

Pretty much wall to wall sunshine here as well today, a little haze from the south at times for this afternoon/evening. But all in all glorious weather.

Temps 28.5c at Blackpill and 24.4c at Mumbles (after an overnight low of 19.7c).

Going back to Barbel's post at 17.09 regarding the weather to the east of Exeter this afternoon....some friends of mine were at Otter Nurseries at the time the storm hit and apparently there was damage to the garden centre with a lot of rain getting in to the buildings and even the report of one car in the car park with water all round and up to the driver's door.  Unconfirmed report that 17mm fell in less than 30 minutes around the 16.30 mark.  Video of parts of Exeter on BBC's Spotlight programme this evening showed roads more like rivers.  Same applied in Bude where the storms moved on to.   I'm sure that more will some out about it in the coming days.

28.2 currently, very nice but still dont think it will make 30. Maybe tomorrow? Lovely day again with only a few clouds, if it can carry on next week this will go down as a good July as well.

Looks like breaking down weekened now, cooler NW-ly coming in.

Warmest day of the year at 25.2c with an easterly breeze, warmest day since last july.

19c at 615am.... Lovely.... Warmest day of year up here today? 27-29c.....

Rather you than me. It's a refreshing 11c here right now, giving everything a chance to cool down before the sun gets going once again.

Actually managed to make the warmest day of the year yesterday with a 28.1c max.

Then after I go out towards North Devon, a line of storms forms near home.. couldn't make it up really lol. The models and forecasts didn't really go for that yesterday so wasn't really expecting it.

Thankfully it wasn't a direct hit with no rain actually falling here though close enough with lots of rumbling apparently.

Interesting temp drop from the outflow around 5pm too:

As for today already up to 24.5c here now.

What is it with this fog in Northampton which refuses to budge until midday?  We're not even near the east coast for heaven's sake.  Shift yourself fog.

Not expected to be as sunny or as hot as the last few days but should should still feel very pleasant with temps around 24C tomorrow dropping to around 21C on Sunday....still warm enough for the beach me thinks!  :)
