These big bruisers will be much larger than the usual 'popcorn' type storms we've been accustomed too..trust me.Pershore topped out at 27C in the mids area. 30 looks quite likely now for some.

Hope your right Ive not seen anything other than the occasional Wam Bam Thank you mam kind of storm for 17 years I calculated earlier. :aggressive: Going by the bbc forecasts they don't expect much tonight other than 'thundery showers' so have to hope Saturdays event is one to remember. :diablo:

My car almost refused to start, I put this down to the 39c temp it was recording. Serves me right for driving a black one lol

So, do I need to water my plants tonight? Just finished a very long parents evening and I just want to continue swatting thunderflys away from my glass of wine.

A max of 26.8c here in the shade today. Much better now I've had a cool shower and sat in the garden in the shade with a light breeze.

Are we to expect electrical activity to pick up through the night as the band moves north or will it likely stay similar to what it is now?

Yes 39c must of been a bit much for a combustion engine..  :whistling:

Yes you need to water them if they in pots but if in the ground they should be fine.

ESE winds = no breeze here and all the heat from the South East pushing up towards the Cheshire Gap through the night, still 24c now, which would be excellent at the weekend but not for a good nights sleep when getting up at 6am for work *sigh*
