What a joke this summer has been. Storms in virtually every single area but the NW Midlands, I can't believe how many times it's gone east, or south. The plume delivered nothing for us. Very frustrating.

Good luck everyone in the storm tomorrow, stay safe and enjoy it. Winds could be gusting between 35 - 45 mph inland and 50 - 60 mph on the coast. Could be one interesting day tomorrow.

Fair scattering of popcorn showers being set off now across Wales, these set to give short-lived downpours in places this afternoon, outside chance of a crack of thunder.

Any gusts around 40-45mph maybe even a bit higher, are likely to cause some disruption inland. Certainly a situation to perhaps re think any more unnecessary journeys etc. or maybe even postpone? Coastlines, more exposed areas higher still....Although the exact track of 'Bertha' is still not fully established, a period of rough weather now looks pretty likely - of course any more prolonged heavy rain will only add to the mele.Hard to imagine given today's pleasant enough warm sunshine, despite a mod to fresh breeze, will only further underline tomorrow's forecasted quite stormy spell.

Yeah, any wind gusts of 50 mph + are likely to bring down the odd tree even 40 mph at this time of the year can also bring down a tree if it's rotten and the ground is saturated which it could be tomorrow with all this rain. A possibly tricky situation tomorrow. I think the only journey I'll do tomorrow is Sidmouth.

A day of sunshine dotted with convective clouds. Quite a pleasant day so far, with the temperature around 22*C. A bit breezy and windy, though.

Personally not looking forward to that bad boy tomorrow. Not really that keen on strong winds and rain.

Well, England have wrapped up the test match. Bertha can do as she pleases now, as far as I'm concerned!

A heavy shower here at the moment, equally as heavy as anything we managed yesterday evening.

some sharp showers here a couple of hours ago, now 100% cloud cover courtesy of encroaching frontal cloud from Bertha....Looks like the west country will escape most of the persistent rain from the warm front (the Welsh Mountains/uplands & the Midlands bare the brunt of the warm front) but hi-res modeling progs a short period of torrential rain with possible embedded line convection early tomorrow morning courtesy of the cold front for southern counties

Absolutely no rain and wind very calm. There was a small amount of drizzle around 0030 when I popped to the 24/7 for some fags, but even then, it was eerily "still". Suppose I'll have to wait for a few more hours. Posted Image *grabs more coffee*

[EDIT]

0505 - Gusts of wind starting to increase (light ones though)

0535 - (Very) Light rain has started

0545 - Wind dropped once again

0600 - Rain stopped
