I'm going to be an anus and convince The Mother to move back up to The Midlands... at least I'd get a chance of even a bit of rain.

Don't want to end up being like one of those nagging folks, but I am really annoyed with the constant sun and heat down here. Today saw about a minute of light rain, then that was it. Back to horrible stuffy warmth. :/ Ugh.

Dodged all the storms here but generally overcast, although the suns breaking through gradually now, 22c down the road in Shawbury, 20.4c here.

In a surprising turn of events, next week is now looking rather decent for the most part!

met o, really pathetic again today. Downgraded the rain on every update, every time I look it is less and less. Pity help the people who rely on tourists coming to the county, we had about 5 mins of light drips, if that. People could have had a lovely day out but the forecast will have put them off

Sun has been out since about 3, saw a few drops of rain the other side of town but nothing here. A summer month that's much drier and sunnier than average at last! (Last month was much sunnier, but only just made it as drier).

No sun today and heavy showers off and on through the day, 7mm in total.

12z GFS is the wettest run I've seen since last winter I think, doubt it'll be that wet though. Really need some proper rain, grass going brown, streams and ponds drying up.

9mm of rain in Mumbles today, that's 29mm for the month. [shame it couldn't have stayed away for 1 more day.]

That's not the driest of local stations either.

Thunder heard to the north/north west,  between Matlock and Bakewell, 1730-1800 g.m.t but just a couple of short moderate showers here. Today was the 16th consecutive day with a maximum exceeding 20c.

If that was close to coming off, and that always overstates rainfall;

There would be more rain in a few days, than the whole of July combined. (fair chance of that happening though. )

Another above average temp day (max 23.2c) bringing it to at least 13 in a row (or if you include one near-marginally above average max, 17 in a row). That may change tomorrow with the first significant rain for a while, though quite local variations in totals likely and it could pass mainly to my west. One brief shower around 14:30 brought a whopping 0.2mm.

It's raining!  Line of showers pushing its way NE, directly over us. First rain since the 19th and, as it it beyond 09.00GMT, it will count on August 1st's total.

It would have been my driest July but for showers after midnight taking the total above the 30.4mm of July 2006 :(

21.4°C was today's high.

I had 65.6mm for July but I did work out that 40mm of that had fallen in less than an hour (on two separate days)

Well, that didn't last long!  Just about enough to dampen the ground and then it stopped.  No more since late morning, at the moment, it's to the north and west, just fringing us.

Rain! We had some rain! *fangirls*

Though, it's stopped again now - lasted about 30-40 minutes and was failing light-to-moderately. Right, I want more now... come on, chop-chop. :D

We has some mainly moderate rain for a while, now unfortunately it has turned into one of my least favourite types of day.. persistent light and pretty pathetic rain and no sun all day. None of the heavy bits/showers on radar have hit us really.

Total 6.6mm so far today.

After a brightish morning and a high of 22.9C in some warm sunshine, it's gone rapidly downhill this afternoon with two torrential downpours. Apart from overnight 18th/19th July, haven't had rain like it since May! Now just grey, misty and cool.
