Up to 21.3°C now. I haven't seen it this clear for a long time. I'm not expecting to beat the warmest day of the year here, it is a tad breezy.

My cat is enjoying it though. :)

Who needs blue skies..... when you can look at a little cutie like that, bet your cat's got a right little personality!!!!

Nice bright morning with temps max out at 21.6c....moving on>>>>NOW, overcast still warm with a breeze but dry, 20.7c.

May brighten up again later once this weakening front goes through :)

The South and the South/east are having a blinder of a day :p

That is ABSOLUTELY the worst kind of Sat pic, even worse than cloud covering all of Europe. Happens far too often, especially since 2006.

Was sunny for a while about an hour ago, but gone very grey now. Doesn't seem to be either frontal or convective/infill cloud, just annoying grey rubbish.

Yes, it's a beauty of a day here in north Dorset, only cloud is off to the NW horizon and a bit of cirrus.  Pleasant breeze helping to keep the temperature down a tad.

Met office fore-casted a bright warm morning, then overcast from 12:00/15:00, and brightening up from 15:00 onwards.... Somehow can't see it lasting.

And 100% full marks.... it's lovely here again, broken cloud and sunshine :Dhttp://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/forecast/gcqf2sb4e

But sounds like more clouds on the way..... boohoo! Summer of 95

Fascinating day with low cloud visible to the far NW throughout and clear deep blue sky to the S/SE throughout, meanwhile in between it's very warm, breezy and mostly sunny with scattered Cumulus as well as patches of Cirrus and Altocumulus.

Looking at the NW radar it must be a bleak day up on the SW moors with drizzle under (or probably in!) the low cloud.

Well it's way past 1500 and still grey here.... about an hour of brightness about 1pm was all we had. Get lost cloud, go to London or Dorset!

Looking at the Sat pics that dividing line has been in the same place all day, despite a fairly brisk breeze- what a joke

The cloud is sort of gradually encroaching on Dorset, but there's way to go yet.... :whistling:

What is frustrating is how the SE still clings on to summer tomorrow whilst it turns autumnal like (might as well!) for the rest of us.

Was very annoyed at the first bbc 10 day forecast last night. At the very end Louise said it would turn warmer later on...for the SE. Typical bias thinking we all love there and it's the most important place on earth!

Just seen that for myself! Louise, God! didn't she go on ' 28c on the map for just West of London, red & orange's everywhere '

While the rest of us is covered in Grey Crap!......... In fact, it might as well be a regional forecast :p

Windy and generally grey today (standard July day for Shropshire) bar the occasional very brief 20 second spell of sunshine, a rather humid feeling 20c, was hoping the weekend would now be sunny spells and around 19/20c but the showers seem to be back in full force, looks like the luck of decent weekend's has definitely ran out last weekend as next week's Azores high looks set to topple on Friday to!

That's ambitious! I'm going for 27.6°C somewhere in Kent. :)

Dan Holly: Today's UK Top Temps: 27.7C Writtle, 26.8C Heathrow, 26.6C Cavendish + Shoeburyness, 26.2C Santon Downham, 26.1C Gravesend + WattishamEssex I think? Only .1 out.

This used to be the default summer pattern, hot and sunny SE, cloudy/warm midlands, unsettled autumnal NW

Aagh he is very cute, whats his name? One of my cats is a character, Butty (after Jenson Button) bought home a headless squirrel for me once; what on earth he thought I may have wanted it for I don't know, right proud of himself he was.

Hate to have to disagree, but the pattern in the 80s/90s was typically hot and sunny SE, warm and mostly sunny SW, Midlands, Wales up to Yorkshire, cloudy only from the Lake District up, if anywhere. This SE hot/sunny vs everywhere else cloudy phenomenon is a 21st century thing. So while the SE bas always been the warmest in summer, the difference seems much more pronounced and localised now.

is the general setup though off tropical maritime air, another repeat tomorrow, Wet NW, cloudy/sticky midlands, hot and sunny SE

But this doesn't tend to be the pattern for June, indeed western areas have done better this June than eastern areas, as is often the case. Last weekend into Monday was a case in point, quite unsettled for the east generally better the further west you went.

it does reverse a bit (or a lot) later in the summer depending on your viewpoint.

Here in the mostly cloudy but mostly dry zone, with some brightness early and late afternoon, and some brief drizzle around noon. (but dampened again in the past half hour, and likely to stay this way now. )
