Above forecast ?...Snipping Tool .....any chance, How to or a Link maybe :D

Youtube is your friend. (sometimes)

Actually that has taught me a few things about Snipping tool I didn't know. Like how to snip different shapes.

Snipping Tool comes standard with most new computers (even Vista, which isn't exactly new these days. )

Love the unpredictability of it all! I haven't a clue how well placed I am. Just as well as anyone else I guess but thunderstorms do seem to be the kind of weather that causes the most surprises. They're tricky little buggers because one storm can cover such a small area. If anything, big areas of snow are easier to forecast than pinpointing thunderstorms!

Good luck everyone. We've had terrible luck here in the Black Country so far...who can say whether it will turn for us or not. Might still end up holding a flame to the 25th Jan, might end up getting lucky. That would be strange if our best storm of the year happened in mid winter...need something to beat it!

Beautiful evening out there. I don't think it's that muggy really and the breeze feels really nice. Lots of development high up in the atmosphere though!

Few strikes around Barnstaple area and looks like a small cell over the Bristol channel has popped up doesn't look to have a strong rain core though but could be enough to trigger a few strikes of lightning in to parts of Wales, west of Swansea maybe?

No strikes around Barnstaple they're false detections.

That's a shame.

The storm in France over Nantes looking very good and UK bound!

Dang it's really close out there, even in a t-shirt in the brisk wind. That typical stormy feel to the atmosphere.

Those false echos, anaprop, such as those over the channel could be useful as they probably indicate where there is capping due to an inversion. The models show a lot of CIN in that area which should clear through the night as the cold front destabilises the plume. When they dissapear that's when we might know that the atmosphere is primed and 'ready'. The cold front carrying cold dense air undercuts the warm moist plume pushing it upwards.

Pretty, here's hoping Blighty lights up like a Christmas tree later.
