Today has been one of the very few days this year where there has been no hint of a chill in the air when outside in a t-shirt, even in the brisk wind it feels warm and muggy.

Gorgeous fresh morning, generally thick haze 12-3pm then finished work early and it turned lovely and sunny again just in time whey :D, 21.5c max, hazed back over now.

Unimpressed with the continual downgrades to a showery Sunday though !

I'll tell you what will happen here with great certainty, it's sooo predictable: Outbreaks of rain overnight/tomorrow morning with the odd heavy burst and a distant rumble or two if lucky. To my E and across W Wales there will be some decent storms, with potent storms firing up across just to the E into the Midlands during the afternoon and more scattered storms across Wales but mostly a dry uneventful day here.

It's soo going to happen like that.

If we get a potent overhead thunderstorm I'll eat my hat with duck sauce and glass of port.

I wanted to screenshot Ian's forecast map at 06.00 but it wouldn't work. Thunderstorms moving North over Dorset, Hampshire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Bath and Bristol. Prior to that suggestions of elevated storms moving North around 01.00!

I saw it. No chance for me now. I'm so annoyed.

Don't start on the prozac just yet there is still massive amounts of uncertainty of where the storm will track.

The storms look pretty violent according to the NMM-6 tomorrow morning across a good part of this region. Will be interesting to see if this model earns its money!!! :cc_confused:

Storms approaching from the southwest on latest radar, mid level cape getting things going, staying in Paignton could be a lively evening.

Cautiously excited after seeing how fast things have exploded down in Cornwall...

As I just posted in the convective thread, this is UKWF's take on things...

"Good evening,

As expected, we already have thunderstorms firing across Cornwall. During the remainder of tonight and into the early hours of tomorrow morning, further thunderstorms will affect southern coastal areas of England (moving inland), SW England, Bristol channel regions and parts of Wales (possibly extending in to Cheshire).

We expect a mainly elevated display (cloud to cloud discharge and inner cloud).

High rainfall rates may lead to localised flash flooding and large hail is also a risk.

A full update on tomorrows situation will come later this evening.

Lewis"
