Congrats to Summer Blizzard and Kentish Man, who both got it spot on

That makes the first 3 months of the year, the joint 8th mildest on record

Just 0.1C out, that'll do me!  Amazing just how different things are compared to this time last year.  1st April 2013 was bitter!

Wondering when we last saw Jan-April turn out above average temp wise? Don't think we did in 2012 thanks to the chilly April. 2011 scuppered by January. 2008 scuppered by a chilly March and April... Probably 2007, which came on the back of a very mild period between May and Dec 2006. There are similiarities with May 2006 - April 2007 with what we have experienced since July last year in terms of consistent warmth, however, very different in terms of the amount of wet weather. The period May-Sept 06 was very dry.

The last time we saw a wet warm 9 month spell was probably back in the second half of 2004 and into early 2005. Going further back conditions since July have been very similar to the conditions we experienced in July 94 - March 95, a very wet mild period, bar the odd colder interlude in Sept and October and on occasion in March... will we see a summer like 95 I wonder!

I wouldn't be surprised if we are now entering a lengthy very dry period, I've talked numerous times how lengthy wet periods have been followed by lengthy very dry periods and vice versa.

David Snow pointed out correctly that he was deducted points in February for a late entry, however the entry was not late, this has now been corrected as follows, it does not make a big difference overall but I have attached a revised schedule.
