Ah not long until the diurnal heating stages will kick in :)

Ive just been laughing about this winter and how us coldies have been so done in !! Seeing that polar vortex there over Canada, then the heights to the Northeast tease us and get close, and then to kick us while we're down, the Canadian PV calls for its Siberian Polar vortex cousin to join up with it like a tag team and then blows the heights all the way to next to Vladivostok!! Actually cracked me up Posted Image

On the plus side, I'm loving how the English Channel and North sea have barely had an opportunity to cool down and are nearing the warming cycle again, a very welcome head start if you ask me :) as it will increase the odds of getting those imports over in one piece and still rumbling alive!

Do keep up Lassie. Those sources have been proved wrong time and time again.Posted Image

The daily express couldn't tell the weather forecast from their elbow. Where is the three months of record breaking snow. Makes you wonder where they get their forcecasts from? Any suggestionsPosted Image

In some of the worst weather ever.....I say all credit due to the pilots flying the planes in such dangerous conditions...

Amazing breed, calm under extreme pressure,  This is an interesting article about the Thames Floods affecting the Central London during the 20th Century that eventually led to the building of the Thames Barrier. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-26153241

A very interesting read, thank you for posting the link.

Very interesting indeed, thanks for sharing, b j. But it makes very sad reading with one poor father having to identify the bodies of his four daughters. It must have been as terrifying then as now. Poor, poor souls. :( Then the horror of 1953. I have a video documentary of that from a few years ago and the eye witness accounts are awful. And nothing they could do about it. Truly terrifying.

Think the imports would be a thing of the past if that map was actually real ! no way would they survive the Scottish Channel if they cant even manage the little English Channel ! Posted Image

The more it rains the more these plug holes will appear. Could you imagine if we have a wet summer too.

I think you mean sink holes - if only we did have a plug hole to pull !

It's ok we all make mistakes and it made me chuckle anyway - had visions of a huge plug in the sea ...

James madden has been predicting blizzards every winter, this one was suppose to be the coldest for 100 years, not only does he not have a clue about the weather, he also charges for his forecasts.Posted Image

He got confused, he was forecasting for the USA lol.

He always says a change is coming and standard weather models will not be able to pick up on this change, the man is bonkers. If he doesn't use weather models to predict the weather, then what the hell does he use? Whatever it is, it's not working, although the daily express seem to suck on his teet for quotes and forecasts.

I just wish they would stop twisting quotes from the MetO and here to make his forecasts sound more realistic.

James never admits that he was wrong, he will probably say there was record snow in the scottish mountains, therfore he was correct, even though he predicted that london would be under a foot of snow for much of january and feburary. Does he do refunds because if i was stupid enough to pay for one of his bogus forecasts, i would want my money back.

Evening all, been quiet for the past couple of days due to being busy. Back in the triangle to celebrate my birthday which is tomorrow :)

Weatherwise, man Friday was really something else, felt like the house I was in was going to be blown away. Today was nice though and went for a walk down the beach with the Missus.
