tadpole alert Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

Oh dear the Daily Excess will be on to that next....I can just see it now....

Plague of “Flesh Eating†tadpoles crossing the Atlantic:

Wildlife experts have suggested the recent spate of cold weather in the USA could have led to the mutation of these creatures which have a grossly enlarged heads and powerful tail muscles.

Doctor Jeremy Fisher, of the RSPB, said a late hatching season combined with the recent stormy weather could have caused them to grow enormous but they will not metamorphosize into frogs, instead ending up as unusually big tadpoles.

Arthur Weasley and his wife Molly, of Swanage, discovered the fish pond in their back garden has been overtaken by an army of the large black visitors. The bewildered pair say they have “hundreds†of the slippery creatures in the pond and Lucky their family dog has gone missing.

Doctor Fisher said: “It’s possible that in extreme cases these ‘Flesh Eating’ tadpoles thrust through the water towards their prey and grab it in its jaws, the victim has no chance and is dead within seconds.

Morning all!

It's a chilly 2.6c here this morning.  The sky is clear and looking promising.

Happy birthday today to Robbie Garrett and gazb21.

I dreamt about my long gone mum and dad last night and it's left me in a nostalgic mood this morning.  I may have an 80s day today in their memory. :)

Indeed, and the weekend's looking mostly dry and sunny for the us in the southeast too. Will make the most of it before the wind and rain returns next week!

Morning

Well my tin of de-icer remains firmly sealed again, I really don't think I am going to have to open it this winter.  It was a bit fresh this morning on my walk to the station but no sign of a frost.

Regards

Darren

Good morning everyone.

A lovely, bright and clear start to the day here. A tad chilly at 4.7, but beautiful none the less.

What a difference a week makes! Will actually enjoy taking the dog for a walk this morning.

Have a good day whatever you are doing.

Morning all,

And what a lovely morning it is too - clear blue skies, and cold enough to have a little bit of ice on the car to scrape off this morning.

Fingers crossed for a nice dry weekend - I feel the need to get out and do something on Sunday again - it really helped to blow the cobwebs away when we went to Hastings a couple of weekends ago.

Have a good poets day - let's hope it goes quick so the weekend can begin!
